    • In an electronic watch including a so-called automatic winding dynamo, structures of parts themselves and layout of the parts are improved to achieve a reduction in thickness of the electronic watch. Bearing portions for a rotational shaft (211) of a dynamo rotor (21) are made up of hole jewels (212, 214) and ring-shaped caps (213, 215). The cap (215) covers, from the outer side, one end surface (216) of the hole jewel (214) which locates on the side facing a dynamo rotor (21), and defines a lubricant holding annular slot (G3) between the cap and an outer circumferential surface of the rotational shaft (211). Accordingly, even with the dynamo rotor (21) rotating at a high speed, a lubricant is prevented from scattering to the surroundings from the annular slot (G3). Spacings between adjacent parts can be narrowed and the thickness of the electronic watch can be reduced.

The rocking weight in a self-winding watch is supported on a ball bearing having at least three raceways. In the first example (Fig. 1), four raceways are provided, two on an inner ring or race 5 held on a pillar 6 1 by a screw 7, and the other two on relatively adjustable rings 2 and 3. The ring 2 is carried by the arm 1 of the winding weight and constitutes the first pinion of the winding train. The ring 3 is forced into the ring 2. In another example (Fig. 2, not shown), the ring 3 constitutes the first pinion of the winding train and is positioned below the ring 2. In another embodiment (Fig. 3), the two outer raceways are on separate rings 11, 12, both forced into a ring 10 set in the arm 1. The ring 10 constitutes the first pinion of the winding train. In another embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown), the lower outer ring 12 forms the said first pinion. In a further embodiment (Fig. 5), the outer raceways are on the one ring 14 and the inner raceways on separate rings 15, 16, forced on to a ring 17 held on a pillar 6 1 by a screw 7. One of the rings 15 or 16 may be integral with the ring 17.

A ball bearing device 1 suitable for use in an oscillating weight structure for automatic winding timepiece includes an outer ring, an inner ring, a plurality of balls disposed between the outer ring and the inner ring regulated in the radial direction, a retainer provided with a plurality of recessed sections in the circumferential direction at intervals each having an opening in the outer periphery for holding respective one of the balls in the circumferential direction at intervals, and rotatably fitted to the inner ring. Each of the recessed sections of the retainer is formed deeper and wider than the ball in a bottom wall section of the recessed section so that a gap remains between a bottom wall surface of the recessed section and a surface of the ball radially regulated between the outer ring and the inner ring, and can be abut on the ball with the surface opposing to the ball in the circumferential direction in surface sections adjacent to the opening.
