摘要： A liquid crystal composition is provided. The liquid crystal composition includes a liquid crystal body, a first monomer, and an initiator. The first monomer is selected from one of a monomer shown in formula 1, a monomer shown in formula 2, and a monomer shown in formula 3; wherein the definitions of R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, and R6 are as provided in the specification. Based on the total weight of the liquid crystal composition, the content of the liquid crystal body is 50 wt % to 90 wt %, the content of the first monomer is 2 wt % to 30 wt %, and the content of the initiator is 0.5 wt % to 3 wt %.

摘要： A message board lighting fixture has semiconductor based lighting elements for illumination and an integrated electronic message board display for displaying content to occupants of a transit vehicle or other area. The lighting fixture may include a concave fixture frame having a reflective interior, with lighting elements positioned along the length of the frame to provide area illumination. The electronic display may be mounted on a projecting frame substantially centrally within the cavity of the concave fixture frame, and may be augmented with additional semiconductor based lighting elements for backlighting. A detachable lens cover may have a diffusive portion and a separate transparent region over the electronic display area.

The first display element includes a light-emitting layer and is electrically connected to the first transistor. The first transistor includes a first semiconductor film, a first gate electrode and a second gate electrode facing each other with the first semiconductor film provided therebetween, and a first source electrode and a first drain electrode over and in contact with the first semiconductor film. The second gate electrode is electrically connected to the first source electrode or the first drain electrode. The second display element includes a light-emitting layer and is electrically connected to the second transistor. The second transistor includes a second semiconductor film, and a third gate electrode and a fourth gate electrode facing each other with the second semiconductor film provided therebetween. The fourth gate electrode is electrically connected to the third gate electrode.

摘要： In one embodiment, a display device includes first and second substrates, a liquid crystal layer, a polarizing element, a light source, and a bending member. The first substrate includes first and second surfaces and a side surface. The second substrate includes third and fourth surfaces. The polarizing element is provided on the fourth surface side of the second substrate. The light source irradiates the side surface with polarized parallel light. The bending member bends a path of the light entering the first substrate from the light source such that the light goes to the second substrate. No polarizing element is provided between the first substrate and the light source, and the bending member is provided on the second surface side of the first substrate.

The backlight module includes a light guide plate having an incident side; a mounting bracket including a vertical portion and a horizontal portion, wherein the vertical portion is opposite to the incident side, a gap exists between the vertical portion and the incident side, the vertical portion has a plurality of mounting holes, and the mounting holes pass through the vertical portion and the horizontal portion, thereby forming a plurality of grooves on the horizontal portion; a plurality of optical fibers, wherein the optical fibers are respectively disposed in the grooves and the mounting holes, emitting end faces of the optical fibers are attached to the incident side, and the optical fibers are used for guiding the ambient light into the light guide plate; and a plurality of slide assemblies, wherein the slide assemblies are respectively put around the optical fibers and fixed on the optical fibers, and the sliding assemblies are respectively disposed in the grooves and able to move with expansion or contraction of the light guide plate. The invention also discloses a liquid crystal display device having the backlight module.

The backlight module includes an ambient light collector for collecting ambient light; a back plate; a diffuser plate on the back plate; a plurality of optical fibers straightly fixed between the diffuser plate and the back plate and coupled to the ambient light collector. Microstructure is formed on the surface of the optical fibers straightly fixed between the diffuser plate and the back plate, and the microstructure makes light from the optical fibers evenly being emitted. The backlight module utilizes microstructure formed on a surface of optical fibers for evenly distributing light from the surface of the optical fibers. In hence, it effectively guides ambient light into the backlight module via the optical fibers and ensures at the same time that the light is evenly distributed to the backlight module.
