    • The present invention relates to an optical switch. The optical switch includes at least two binary control elements movable between a first and second position. The binary control elements include an at least one angle tuning element for adjusting the pathway of an optical signal. With a binary control element in the first position, the angle tuning element is able to adjust the pathway of an optical signal. With the binary control element in a second position, the angle tuning element is not able to adjust the optical pathway of an optical signal. The optical switch of the present invention can also concurrently switch multiple optical signals in parallel.

    • The optical modulator includes an optical waveguide for receiving light entered from a first end surface thereof and for emitting the light from a second end surface opposing to the first end surface, a flexible light transmitting member disposed so as to face with a boundary surface of the optical waveguide and has a gap between the flexible light transmitting member and the boundary surface of the optical waveguide and a modulation device for bringing the flexible light transmitting member into contact with the boundary surface of the optical waveguide. The other optical modulator includes the above optical waveguide, a modulation member having a light interference film, disposed such that a surface of the light interference film faces the first end surface on a light emission side of the optical waveguide and a driving device for changing an angle of the modulation member with respect to the light emitted from the optical waveguide. The exposure head includes one of these optical modulator and a light source allowing the light to enter into the first end surface on a light incidence side of the optical waveguide. The image recording apparatus includes the above exposure head and a scanning device for relatively moving a photosensitive material and the exposure head.

    • An optical switch includes at least one input end, at least one output end, a reflective device and a switching device. The reflective device includes at least one flat glass and at least one reflective element provided on the flat glass. The switching device changes the position where the at least one ray enters the reflective device. The at least one output end selectively output the at least one ray after the at least one reflective element reflects it. Alternatively, a plurality of reflective elements are provided. The reflective elements are disposed in the reflective device such that the reflective device has a plurality of reflective regions. When the switching device switches the rays to enter different reflective regions, the rays can be output from different output ends.
