摘要： Embodiments of the present disclosure provide apparatus, methods and computer programs for ultrasonic proximity-detection. In one embodiment, processing circuitry comprises: a first input for receiving an indication of an interrogating ultrasonic signal; a second input for receiving a detected ultrasonic return signal; an adaptive filter, coupled to the first and second inputs, operative to estimate a transfer function between the interrogating ultrasonic signal and the detected ultrasonic return signal; a feature extract module, coupled to the adaptive filter, operative to calculate statistical moments of one or more of: the estimated transfer function; an estimated ultrasonic return signal, calculated based on the interrogating ultrasonic signal and the estimated transfer function; and an error signal, representing the error between the estimated ultrasonic return signal and the detected ultrasonic return signal; and a classifier module, coupled to the feature extract module, operative to determine the presence of a nearby object based on the statistical moments.

摘要： In an ultrasonic detection system that uses frequency-modulation or phase-modulation coding to distinguish emitted bursts from multiple transducers, a receiver associated with a transducer uses peak search, peak buffer, and peak rank stages in one or more receiver signal processing paths to identify valid received ultrasonic signal envelope peaks in correlator outputs. The peak rank stage can support different modes respectively designed to handle one code, two or more codes, or two or more codes with support for Doppler frequency shift detection. Valid peak information (e.g., amplitude and time) can be reported to a central controller and/or stored locally in a fusion stage to generate more intelligent information for targets or obstacles using peaks from multiple bursts.

The present disclosure provides three input formats for the neural network (NN) in order to feed one-dimensional (1D) input data to the network. The system is generalizable to multiple noise sources, as it learns from different motion functions and noise types. The end-to-end system of the present disclosure is trained on raw ultrasonic signals with very little pre-processing or feature extraction.

摘要： Composite burst signaling to provide robust multi-channel sensor array performance in systems for parking assistance, blind spot monitoring, and driver assistance. An illustrative method embodiment includes driving an acoustic transducer to send composite acoustic bursts. Each composite acoustic burst includes multiple individual bursts associated with respective frequency bands, the frequency band arrangement providing a source-specific burst signature. The method further includes receiving self-generated echo signals responsive to the composite acoustic bursts from the transducer and potentially including extra echoes responsive to acoustic bursts from other sources; categorizing received echo signals by source based on the burst signature; and using the self-generated echoes exclusive of the extra echoes to determine a distance or time of flight from the transducer.

A method includes selectively attenuating a signal representing a ranging system return or echo from targets so as to suppress side lobes or other undesirable artifacts appearing in the signal due to noise, interference, and/or distortion. A method may additionally or alternatively include rejecting interference events in ranging system returns by comparing a received return with that expected from a target illuminated by the ranging system, as determined by characteristics of its particular ranging sensor, and rejecting or attenuating returns or portions of returns that fail to match those characteristics in time or space. A system configured to perform such methods and comprising a transducer/antenna, a transceiver, a controller, and/or other logic devices implementing a pulse generator, correlator, selective attenuator, comparator, buffer, subtractor, and/or output circuit is also disclosed.

摘要： Techniques are disclosed for systems and methods to provide accurate and reliable compact sonar systems for mobile structures. A sonar system includes multiple sensor channels, each comprising a sonar transmitter and a sonar receiver, and a logic device configured to provide control signals and receive sensor signals from the sensor channels. The logic device is configured to provide transmission signals to sonar transducer assemblies, where signal patterns of the transmission signals are differentiated based at least in part on frequency content. Acoustic returns are processed using the signal patterns to reduce inter-channel pickup between the sensor channels. Resulting sonar data and/or imagery may be displayed to a user and/or used to adjust a steering actuator, a propulsion system thrust, and/or other operational systems of the mobile structure.

摘要： A method for determining a distance between a device and an object, the method comprising: emitting an acoustic reference signal from a speaker of the device; receiving an acoustic input signal at a microphone of the device, the acoustic input signal including a measurement portion including a reflection of the acoustic reference signal off the object; cross correlating at least the measurement portion with the emitted acoustic reference signal to provide a cross correlated signal; receiving information relating to the object; extracting a section of the cross correlated signal corresponding to reflection of the acoustic reference signal by the object, based on the received information; analysing the extracted section of the cross correlated signal to determine a time of flight between emitting the acoustic reference signal and receiving the reflection; and determining the distance between the device and the object based on the determined time of flight and known characteristics of the acoustic reference signal. A chipset for performing the method is also disclosed.
