    • By a test vessel, a test enclosure is created immediately surrounding the zone of the line or cable harness to be inspected by detection. This enclosure is sealed off before detection-inspection and an internal atmosphere is substituted by at least a partial gas substitution with a test gas or a test gas mixture with a lower disruptive discharge voltage than that of air. This test method permits detection of faulty lines with greater distances between the faulty line, the test electrode, and the corresponding counter-electrode. A corresponding pliers-type device for the sectional detection of a line or harness, or a stationary vacuum seal-tight testing chamber capable of performing the same detection may be used. The method is suitable also for a local detection when the test vessel is created and formed by the installation object itself (e.g., an aircraft fuselage).

    • A corrona test set has at least a reactor and power separation filter placed in an oil-filled conductive tank of a conductive material such as sheet steel. The exciter optionally may also be placed in the same tank enclosure which is of much smaller size than the equivalent voltage rating rest set in air. High voltage taken from the circuit passes out of the tank through high voltage bushings. A preferred form of bushing is a quick coupling cable receiving device having an insulator extending into the tank and a frustoconical metallic extension extending away from the tank with a tubular internal wall connected to these respective parts at opposite ends to form a further oil-filled compartment separate from the tank. A temporary cable termination may be applied to a cable which enables a tubular outer piece to supply rigidity and guidance within the tubular inner wall of the bushing to facilitate contact between the bushing high voltage conductor at the insulator at the tank end of the bushing and the coaxial conductor within the cable. Clamping and sealing means is provided to hold the terminated cable in position so the demineralized and deionized water can be circulated through the entire space between the cable itself and the inner wall of the oil-filled bushing compartment.

    • A high frequency current inducing apparatus for inducing high frequency current in a wiring harness of an instrument to be examined without the necessity of detaching the wiring harness from the instrument. A high frequency current inducing chamber is connected to a high frequency oscillator for inducing the high frequency current in the wiring harness of the instrument to be inspected, and a terminator is connected to the high frequency inducing chamber. The chamber includes an outer conductor and an inner conductor fixed at a predetermined position inside the outer conductor. The outer conductor has two inserting holes for insertion of the wiring harness along the axis of the chamber between the two conductors. The outer conductor can be separated along a plane including the two inserting holes. Once separated, the wiring harness of the instrument to be inspected can be inserted along the axis of the chamber without detaching the wiring harness from the instrument.
