摘要： A gas detecting device includes a casing, at least one gas transporting actuator, at least one valve and at least one external sensor. The casing has an airflow chamber, an inlet, a branch channel and a connection channel. The airflow chamber communicates with the exterior of the casing through the inlet, and the branch channel communicates with the airflow chamber and the connection channel. The gas transporting actuator is disposed within the branch channel for transporting air into the airflow chamber and the branch channel from the inlet. The valve is disposed between the connection channel and the branch channel for controlling the air to flow into the connection channel. The external sensor is detachably disposed within the connection channel and has a sensor for measuring the air in the connection channel.

摘要： A system (20) and method (100) using decentralized trace gas sensors (44a, 44b, 44c) and a central control element (46) to detect smoldering material in particulate material processing equipment (26) with continuous air flow (22, 24, 34). First and second sensors (44a, 44c) measure gas concentrations at an air inlet (22) and an air outlet (34), respectively. The control element (46) receives the measurements from the sensors (44a, 44c) simultaneously, considers the first and second concentrations simultaneously to determine an amount of gas being produced in the processing equipment (26), determines whether the amount of gas being produced exceeds a threshold value indicative of smoldering, and if so, activates an alarm. A user interface (48) allows a user to interact with the control element (46), including resetting the alarm, viewing current and stored sensor and system information, and initiating a test of the system by exposing the sensors (44a, 44b, 44c) to gas released from a gas reservoir (50a, 50b, 50c).

摘要： Disclosed are various embodiments for determining whether food in a refrigerator has spoiled. An application executing on a computing device receives an identification of a food item located in a compartment of the refrigerator. The application then receives a chemical sensor reading from the refrigerator, wherein the chemical sensor reading represents a measured amount of a chemical associated with spoilage of the food item. Subsequently, the application determines that the measured amount of the chemical associated with spoilage of the food item exceeds a threshold amount of the chemical associated with spoilage of the food item. Finally, the application sends a notification to the client device, the notification comprising an indication that the food item is spoiled.

However, even in this low-power operating mode, the sensor hub still monitors for changes of the signal from the gas sensor and wakes the device up if such a change is detected.

The comparison means are also adapted to generate an electric alarm signal when the predetermined threshold value is exceeded.
