摘要： An indirect fired oven system for curing coated products, particularly metal product such as coiled sheet steel or coiled sheet aluminum, is provided. The oven line comprises at least one oven zone though usually at least two or three zones are present, through which the coated product travels, and the oven line is operated at elevated temperatures. An indraft is induced at the entrance and exit ends of the oven line by a balance air fan which captures the indraft air at both ends almost immediately that it enters the oven line, and feeds part of the indraft air to a heat exchanger and then back to the oven zones, and part of it unheated directly back to the oven zones. The temperature in the oven zones is controlled by the influx to each zone of heated air. An exhaust fan is arranged to exhaust the oven zones including the volatile solvent released from the coating material as it heats up for curing in the oven; and the output from the exhaust fan is fed to an afterburner for combustion after which it flows through the heat exchanger and then to an exhaust stack. No products of combustion are therefore fed directly to the oven line or are in contact with the coated product as it moves through the oven.

摘要： Apparatus and process are disclosed whereby open coils having spaces between the convolutions may be treated in a longitudinally extending furnace by passage of treating gases between the convolutions of the coils, the coils being introduced at one end of the furnace, passed through the furnace while being treated, and removed from the other end of the furnace. Walking beam apparatus is disclosed having sealing means, disclosed as a trough and flange sealing means that prevents gas leakage between the lower portion of the walking beam apparatus and the atmosphere, so that a completely gas sealed enclosure may be provided above the walking beams. Transfer means are disclosed at the entrance and discharge ends of the furnace, for introducing coils into the furnace and removing them from the furnace through purge chambers. A coil support that travels with the coil through the furnace is disclosed. Processes are also disclosed for continuously treating open coils.
