摘要： A device for continuously measuring the temperature in pelletizing furnaces basically comprised of a plurality of temperature detectors (1, 2) disposed at fixed sites on the grate car (10) that follow the latter along the furnace and inform continuously and instantaneously the actual burning temperature of the product at the detected site through data collectors and measuring units; said data collectors being enclosed in housings (20) which also are attached to the grate car (10) in order to follow the latter while it moves through the interior of the furnace.

摘要： A furnace construction capable of withstanding temperatures in excess of 3500.degree. F. A uniquely suspended floor structure permits thermal expansion to occur as required within the furnace while permitting the admission of a cooling fluid to metal plate members therewithin. The furnace chamber is provided with an open bottom which is closed with a refractory raw material in a container and sealed by a skirt member attached directly to the superstructure of the furnace which penetrates the refractory material. Track and elevation means permits the refractory filled loaded container to be pushed into position and lifted until it seals the furnace chamber and the refractory material is heated above its melting point to form a fused ingot. Thereafter, the fused ingot is lowered in the container onto the track means and pushed away while another container of raw material is pushed into position.

摘要： A mobile removable hearth skid for a furnace and/or cooling chamber including: a base, the base including a top horizontal surface supporting a refractory platform which possesses a perimeter edge including a front perimeter edge, a rear perimeter edge, and at least two side perimeter edges. The rear perimeter edge and the at least two side perimeter edges form a continuous shoulder extending beyond the base perimeter edge. Also disclosed is a furnace and/or cooling chamber including a refractory lining with a continuous ledge at the bottom edges of the refractory linings mounted on the rear wall and the at least two side walls. A gap is formed by the furnace supports between a bottom surface of the ledge and a surface supporting the furnace supports. The shoulder and ledge form a removable refractory seal.

摘要： A kiln producing a uniform temperature distribution within the kiln heating chamber and enabling maximum use of heating chamber volume. The heat source is provided by a high-velocity flow of heating gas, which is introduced into the heating chamber through an orifice in a chamber wall. A deflector plate is positioned proximate to, and spaced apart from, the chamber wall so as to overlie the orifice in the path of the high-velocity flow. The dimensions and spacing of the deflector plate may be chosen so as to produce a flow of heat gas primarily parallel to the adjacent wall of the heating chamber and so that the parallel flow will maintain its substantial integrity along the wall much beyond the extremities of the deflector plate. Appropriately positioned gas-entrance ports with associated deflector plates in the kiln are found to produce a uniform temperature distribution without the sacrifice of otherwise usable heating chamber volume.

A pair of spaced tracks are mounted upon the floor upon opposite sides of the bed and extend longitudinally outward from one end thereof. An upright bulkhead is mounted upon said floor at the other end of said bed transversely thereof. An upright furnace housing having a closed end and an open end is movably mounted upon the tracks and has a retracted load position outwardly of said bed and adapted to move to a closed position over and enclosing said bed and sealed against said bulkhead. A series of spaced inwardly directed burners are mounted upon and along the side walls of the housing in communication with the interior thereof and are adapted for energization when the housing is in a closed position. Layers of insulation are arranged upon the interior of the side, top and end walls and upon the interior walls of the bulkhead, said burners extending through said side wall layers of insulation.

At least one of the metal tubes is suspended from a supporting member at the upper part of the insulating sheath and is provided at its lower part with a number of slots extending upwardly from the bottom edge.
