    • There are formed inside a casing, a steam receiving chamber, a supply manifold chamber, a moisture separating chamber, a heating chamber adjacent to the steam receiving chamber in an axial direction and housing a heat exchanger tube group, and a collection manifold chamber communicating with the heating chamber and adjacent to an upper part of the steam heating chamber. The steam receiving chamber and the partition panel are separated by a transverse partition panel which extends in a vertical direction and through which an end of the heat exchanger tube group in the axial direction penetrates, and a shroud that shrouds the end of the heat exchanger tube group penetrating the transverse partition panel. The steam receiving and the collection manifold chambers are separated by a ceiling panel. A panel bonded to the ceiling panel, the transverse partition panel, and the shroud is provided in the steam receiving chamber.

    • A hygroscopic moisture separating and heating apparatus (20) comprises a main body container (1) having a cylindrical shape, a partition plate (5) provided to define a space together with an inner circumferential face of the main body container (1) and configured to divide the internal space of the main body container (1) into a lower temperature area (30) and a higher temperature area (31), a steam inlet (6) provided to the lower temperature area (30) of the main body container (1), a steam outlet (7) provided to the higher temperature area (31) of the main body container (1), a hygroscopic moisture separator (8) located in the lower temperature area (30) of the main body container (1), and a U-shaped pipe (2) through which heated steam for heating the steam to be heated is fed. The U-shaped pipe includes an advancing part (21), a retracting part (22), and a U-shaped part (23) connecting the advancing part (21) with the retracting part (22). Either of the advancing part (21) and the retracting part (22) of the U-shaped pipe (2) extends through the partition plate across the lower temperature area (30) and the higher temperature area (31).

    • The wet steam flow distribution section (20) of the moisture separator reheater (10) includes a multiplicity of side-by-side spaced-apart channel bars (52,54,56) extending transversely to the direction of steam flow from the distribution section to the moisture separator section (24). The bars are preferably substantially U-shaped in section, whereby the two leg portions (60,62) of each bar may be angled and slightly spaced apart from confronting leg portions of adjacent bars, thereby defining respective diffuser nozzles (64). Each nozzle has a discharge end cross-section elongated in the direction parallel to the bars, for directing wet steam toward the separator section. The spacing (Y) and other design variables associated with the bars, permit optimization and uniformity of flow over the full axial extent of the moisture separator reheater unit with minimum pressure drop across the steam distribution apparatus.
