摘要： A saddle-type vehicle that allows common use of a handle switch with a vehicle having no advancing-backing function and can suppress increase in the number of switches and the lowering of the layout efficiency of the switches. A saddle-type vehicle has a reverse mode setting input part that sets a reverse mode in which backing driving of the saddle-type vehicle is permitted and a control system that disables shift operation of a transmission by a shift-down switch and a shift-up switch and causes the saddle-type vehicle to advance through operation of the shift-down switch and to back through operation of the shift-up switch when the reverse mode is set.

The rolling function or the coasting function is automatically terminated if at least one of the predetermined conditions is no longer present. The rolling function or the coasting function can also be terminated manually by the driver, and a manually operable shifting strategy can be initiated.

摘要： An automatic shift control is executed in an automatic transmission with 5 shift speeds of range hold type in the highest gear stage of a shift range at the manual shift mode. Upon selection of a shift mode from the automatic shift mode to the manual shift mode, the shift range at the manual shift mode is selected in accordance with the vehicle speed detected at the automatic shift mode. If the vehicle speed is in the low-speed range, the shift range 3 is selected. If the vehicle speed is in the medium-speed range, the shift range 4 is selected. If the vehicle speed is in the high-speed range, the shift range 5 is selected.

A control pattern of the first manual mode differs from that in the second manual mode.
