    • A variable displacement compressor the displacement of which is externally controlled is provided. The compressor has basically the same structure as prior art compressors except for simple differences. A pressure sensing chamber of a displacement control valve is connected to a suction chamber by an outlet passage. A bellows is located in the pressure sensing chamber. The bellows expands and contracts in accordance with the pressure in the sensing chamber. A valve chamber forms part of a displacement control passage, which is used to control the pressure of a crank chamber. A valve body is located in the valve chamber. The valve body is moved by the bellows to open and close the displacement control passage. Highly pressurized gas from the discharge chamber is supplied to the pressure sensing chamber through an inlet passage. The gas in the pressure sensing chamber is released to the suction chamber through the outlet passage. An electromagnetic valve is located in the outlet passage to regulate the flow of refrigerant gas from the sensing chamber. The outlet passage also includes a bypass passage. The bypass passage bypasses the electromagnetic valve and constantly communicates the pressure sensing chamber with the suction chamber.

    • A hydraulic power system includes a reversible pump, a variable-speed servomotor for driving the pump, a pressure sensor for detecting load pressure, a detector for detecting the motor speed, signal command units for generating preprogrammed pressure and flow rate commands, a rotational speed controller and a signal processor. The signal processor preferentially outputs a speed command corresponding to the flow rate command by a limiter operation when the difference signal between the pressure command and the pressure detection signal is higher than a predetermined level, whereas it preferentially outputs a speed command corresponding to the difference signal when the difference signal is equal to or lower than said level. The rotational speed controller controls the magnitude of a driving current supplied to the servomotor by a closed loop on the basis of the speed command and the detected signal so that the speed of the servomotor corresponds to the speed command.

    • A rotary hydraulic machine which includes a housing having a shaft mounted for rotation within the housing about a shaft axis. A cylinder block is coupled to the shaft for co-rotation with the shaft within the housing and includes a plurality of cylinders disposed in a circumferential array parallel to and surrounding the shaft axis. A piston is disposed to reciprocate within each of the cylinders and is coupled to a yoke for determining displacement of the pistons within the cylinders. A valve plate is mounted on a valve block and includes kidney-shaped slots for registering with the cylinders as the cylinder block rotates, and thereby connecting the cylinders to pump input and output ports. A microprocessor-based controller is externally mounted on the pump valve block and includes internal memory having various remotely-selectable control programs prestored therein. Sensors responsive to pump operating conditions are connected to the pump control electronics, and include a first sensor responsive to yoke position, a pressure sensor responsive to pump output pressure and a speed sensor responsive to angular velocity of shaft rotation. All of the electronic components are mounted on the valve block.
