摘要： Methods and systems are provided for diagnosing a stuck Active Transmission Warmup (ATWU) valve. In one example, a method for an ATWU valve monitoring routine of a vehicle comprises determining a temperature difference between an engine coolant temperature (ECT) and a transmission fluid temperature (TFT) over a duration before the ATWU valve is commanded from a closed position to an open position or from the open position to the closed position comparing a rate of change of the TFT before and after the ATWU valve is commanded to the open position or the closed position; and indicating a stuck ATWU valve based on at least one of the temperature difference, the TFT rate of change comparison, or a combination thereof, based on a calibration parameter.

摘要： The cooling device according to the present invention includes an electric water pump for circulating cooling water through an internal combustion engine of a vehicle, and controls the discharge flow rate of the electric water pump as follows. Until the cooling water temperature. TW reaches a warm-up completion determination temperature, the cooling device increases the discharge flow rate along with an increase of the cooling water temperature TW. After the cooling water temperature TW reaches the warm-up completion determination temperature, the cooling device controls the discharge flow rate so as to bring the combustion chamber wall temperature TCYL toward a target temperature. Thereby, the cooling device can warm up the internal combustion engine more efficiently, and improve the combustion performance of the internal combustion engine after the completion of warm-up.

摘要： A cooling device for an internal combustion engine of a vehicle according to the claimed invention includes: an electric water pump; a first path including a cooling water passage in a cylinder head and extending through a heater core for air heating and a radiator; and a second path bypassing the heater core and radiator. When the internal combustion engine is automatically stopped while the vehicle is stopping, the cooling device causes the electric water pump to operate, and increases the cooling water circulation ratio through the first path while reducing the cooling water circulation ratio through the second path. Thereby, the cooling device improves fuel economy during acceleration at the vehicle start from the automatic stop state of the internal combustion engine while suppressing the deterioration of the air heating performance during the automatic stop of the internal combustion engine while the vehicle is stopping.

In some embodiments, more than one water pump speed function is calculated based on values obtained from vehicle sensors, and a controller chooses among the water pump speed function results to set a water pump speed. In some embodiments, the water pump speed is increased when driveline torque is greater than a threshold amount for an amount of time that varies based on the driveline torque. In some embodiments, ambient temperature is considered while determining whether the water pump should provide full coolant flow to an auxiliary coolant loop of a trailer.

摘要： A powertrain cooling system includes a coolant pump and coolant flow passages. A first three-position valve is operatively connected with an outlet of the coolant pump and has a first, a second, and a third position to at least partially establish different coolant flow modes through the coolant flow passages. Coolant flow from the coolant pump is blocked from both the cylinder head and the engine block in a first coolant flow mode when the three-position valve is in the first position. Coolant flow from the coolant pump is provided to the cylinder head and is blocked from the engine block in a second coolant flow mode when the three-position valve is in the second position. Coolant flows from the coolant pump to the engine block and from the engine block to the cylinder head in a third coolant flow mode when the three-position valve is in the third position.

摘要： The temperature of a machine component is controlled by transferring heat generated by a torque converter under restricted conditions to the component. The machine includes a circulating fluid system configured to transfer heat from the torque converter to the remotely positioned machine component. A controller is configured to sense the temperature of the component, and to restrict motion of the torque converter turbine when the sensed temperature is below a desired temperature. Heat generated by the torque converter under the restricted condition is transferred through the circulating fluid system to the remote component, such as the machine power source, to control the temperature thereof.

摘要： A cooling system for a heat producing system includes a heat exchanger in fluid communication with the heat producing system. The heat exchanger is configured to receive a temperature control fluid therethrough. A first fan is operable in a first rotational direction to move air through the heat exchanger in a first direction. A second fan is disposed radially adjacent to the first fan, and is operable in a second rotational direction opposite the first rotational direction to move air through the heat exchanger in the first direction. A control system, including at least one controller, is provided for controlling operation of the fans.
