    • A marine muffler adapted with an internally tunable sound suppression structure is adaptable to different configurations thereby allowing for structural adjustments to optimize sound suppression and minimize backpressure for particular engine and exhaust conditions. A muffler housing defines an interior volume and includes an exhaust inlet and outlet. The outlet has a reduced diameter as compared with the inlet such that the exhaust gas accelerates through the muffler. An inclined baffle partitions the interior volume into a lower chamber in communication with the exhaust inlet and an upper chamber in communication with the exhaust outlet. Exhaust ducts attached to each side wall penetrate the baffle thereby placing the upper and lower chambers in fluid communication. A corrugated partition divides each exhaust duct into a plurality of non-circular conduits. The muffler may be tuned by selectively capping one or more conduit outlets.

    • An exhaust system of a saddle-ride type vehicle includes an end cap and a muffler close to each other to achieve uniformity therebetween and which is capable of preventing the occurrence of a knocking sound. The exhaust system of a saddle-ride type vehicle includes a muffler connected to an exhaust pipe for discharging exhaust of an engine E and an end cap is attached to a muffler rear end portion. In the end cap, an insertion portion thereof is inserted into and held by an end cap inserted portion provided in the muffler rear end portion, and multiple protruding portions are formed on an outer surface of the insertion portion at a predetermined interval in a circumferential direction of the outer surface. The multiple protruding portions come in contact with an inserted portion inner peripheral wall surface of the end cap inserted portion.

    • The exhaust pipe comprises an inlet pipe, an outlet pipe and a bend portion arranged between the inlet pipe and the outlet pipe. The bend portion comprises an inlet bend and an outlet bend, wherein a central bend portion defines an intermediate section of inlet bend and outlet bend and wherein the inlet bend and the outlet bend each cover 50 percent of the total bend angle covered by the bend portion. The central bend portion comprises a diameter, which is smaller than a diameter of the inlet bend and of the outlet bend in a bending plane. In addition a bend radius R of the bend portion varies along the bend portion such that a bend radius of the inlet bend is larger than a bend radius of the outlet bend.
