    • A reheat-and-regenerating type thermal power plant (A) using Rankine cycle has a water feed bypass (BW) which suppies high temperature fluid (28) produced in a large incineration plant (27) to a heat exchanger (29) and by which confluent feed water (Wg) resulting from the confluence of separated condensed-water (32), separated low temperature feed water (33), separated medium temperature feed water (34) and separated high temperature feed water (35) is supplied to a superheat conduction pipe (3a) through a heat exchanger conduction pipe (29a). The water feed bypass (BW) is installed separately from a feed water path (W), thus insuring an efficient use of the high temperature fluid (28) produced upon incinerating a huge amount of combustible wastes in the large incineration plant (27).

    • A combined-cycle power generation system using waste matter as a fuel, which can be expected to improve in power generation efficiency without using an additional fuel. The system has a corrosive exhaust gas source (waste exhaust gas source) (1), a closed-cycle gas turbine (2), and a Kalina-cycle steam turbine (3). A ceramic heat exchanger (6) for the closed-cycle gas turbine (2) is disposed on a high-temperature side of the corrosive exhaust gas source (1). A heat exchanger (7) heats a mixed ammonia water fluid (11) for the Kalina-cycle steam turbine (3) by a high-temperature side exhaust gas from the closed-cycle gas turbine. A heat exchanger (9) evaporates a condensate of the mixed ammonia-water fluid (11) by heat remaining in the exhaust gas from the closed-cycle gas turbine. A heat exchanger (10) for the Kalina-cycle steam turbine is disposed on a low-temperature side of the corrosive exhaust gas source (1) to evaporate the mixed ammonia-water fluid (11) by heat remaining in the waste exhaust gas.

    • An energy converter for providing a plurality of different outputs, including a base, a heating unit mounted to the base, and defining a combustion chamber for combustion of fuel therein, a boiler mounted to the base for receiving products of combustion from the combustion chamber and heating liquid water to form steam therein, a valved steam line for providing steam from the boiler to a steam engine mounted to the base, a generator mounted to the base connected to the engine for generating electricity, a controlled outlet for providing process steam from the boiler, a hot water heater mounted to the base receiving exhaust steam from the engine for heating water therein, and a return line for conducting condensate from the water heater back to the boiler for regeneration of steam therein. The heating unit is arranged to burn a wide range of different fuels. The heating unit is adapted to provide a clean effluent suitable to be used as heated air for convectively heating an enclosed space. In one illustrated example, the heating unit is adapted to burn agricultural waste products, such as corn and the like.

    • A combined cycle waste-to-energy plant is utilized to thermally convert municipal and industrial solid wastes into essentially complete products of combustion and use the combustion heat to produce steam and/or electrical power. The plant includes a building enclosure having a waste receiving area, a waste fuel separation and processing area, an incinerator area and a heat recovery and power generation area. Processed waste fuel is delivered to a series of incinerators by an automated conveyor and hopper system, and the waste fuel is burned in the incinerators by hot exhaust gas delivered thereto from one or more combustion turbines located outside the building and drivingly connected to electrical generators. Inlet air to the turbines is drawn from with the building to maintain its interior at a negative pressure, thereby preventing waste odors and pathogens from escaping from the building. Hot combustion turbine exhaust gas delivered to the incinerators is passed through a superheater, and a portion of the exhaust gas exiting the superheater is passed through a waste heat recovery boiler. Hot combustion gas discharged from each of the incinerators is passed through an associated combusion heat recovery boiler. Gas heat recovered in the superheater and the various boilers is utilized to produce steam which operates a steam turbine drivingly connected to an electrical generator. A portion of the steam generated may also be used for process purposes.

    • A combined heat power system comprises a Rankine cycle, optionally an organic Rankine cycle, using a fluid both in gaseous phase and liquid phase. The Rankine cycle comprises—an evaporator for evaporating the fluid from liquid phase to gaseous phase, an expander for expanding the fluid in gaseous phase provided by the evaporator. The expander is suitable to transform energy from the expansion of the fluid in gaseous phase into mechanical energy, —a condenser for condensing the fluid from gaseous phase from the expander to liquid phase and—a liquid pump for pumping the fluid in liquid phase provided by the condenser to the evaporator. The system comprises a heat source providing exhaust gas. The exhaust gas provides thermal energy for evaporating the fluid from liquid phase to gaseous phase by the evaporator. The system further comprises a generator unit for converting mechanical energy from expander to electrical energy. The expander is a volumetric expander.
