摘要： A packer apparatus usable in a downhole well casing or an open borehole to provide an annular seal in the well casing or borehole. The packer apparatus includes an activation member disposed in body wherein the activation member is moveable relative to the body to deform an elastomeric packer element outwardly relative to the body to form an annular seal in a well casing in use. A plurality of pistons is arranged to move the activation member relative to the body, each piston being disposed in a respective pressure chamber arranged to be filled with fluid in response to an increase in fluid pressure in the body.

摘要： An expandable downhole tool apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus comprises a body adapted to be incorporated into a drill string and at least one working member moveable relative to the body between an inward deactivated position and an outwardly deployed activated position in order to engage the wall of a borehole. Activation means adapted to move at least one said working member between the inward deactivated position and outwardly deployed activated position is provided. At least one passage is formed through the body and extends from a location on the body adjacent at least one working member to a location remote from the respective working member to enable debris accumulating underneath the respective working member to move along the passage and exit the body.

Modified forms of invention are specifically designed for cutter blades which are intended to perform reaming operations but include the fluid delivery system as well as an extended delivery system for delivering fluid under pressure to other tools in the drill string.

摘要： The present invention is an apparatus for use in drilling operations. It uses an under-reamer having a plurality of elongated arms with cutting elements at the ends of the arms for enlarging a previously drilled borehole drilled by a drill bit. One or more stabilizers in close proximity to the under-reamer provide stability to the under-reamer and the drill bit. The stabilizer could be rotating or non-rotating; and could be positioned between the under-reamer and the drill bit, or above the under reamer or above a directional device on the drillstring. The cutting arms are selectively operable to perform the enlargement. The stabilizer may be provided with members that closely fit the size of the borehole.
