    • In a cylinder lock, a half tumbler biased to engage an engagement portion with a locking recess of a cylinder body is inserted into a tumbler insertion hole of a rotor so that the engagement portion is retraced from the locking recess in response to insertion of a legitimate mechanical key into a key insertion hole. An inner side surface of the tumbler insertion hole is formed to include: a guide portion facing a half tumbler and extending in a moving direction of the half tumbler; and a passage forming portion having larger clearance with the half tumbler than that of the guide portion to form a release passage between the passage forming portion and the half tumbler such that the release passage faces the key insertion hole, extends in the moving direction of the half tumbler, and has opposite ends opened to an outer surface of the rotor.

    • A rekeyable lock cylinder includes a lock cylinder body having an interior void and a plug assembly rotatably disposed in the lock cylinder body. The plug assembly includes a plug body having a keyway. A plurality of racks is movably disposed relative to the plug body. A plurality of key followers is positioned across the keyway and is moveably disposed relative to the plug body. Each key follower is configured to engage a respective rack of the plurality of racks. A key follower rotation member is drivably engaged with each key follower of the plurality of key followers. The key follower rotation member is selectively movable to rotate each key follower of the plurality of key followers to thereby disengage each key follower of the plurality of key followers from the respective rack of the plurality of racks to facilitate a keying of the rekeyable lock cylinder.

A means for changing said active pin formulation is connected within each of the core and the inner and outer sleeves for changing the active pin formulation.

    • A locking device for controlled, reversible security using a control key to set the lock's accessibility to multiple individual keys, thus providing complete control of security. The control key has hierarchy over the individual key(s). Rotating the control key from the first to a second position prevents the core from being actuated by the individual key(s), thus activating a blocking function by which the lock can only be operated by the control key. Returning the control key from the second position back to the first position allows the control key to be removed ( the blocking function is still active). When the control key is rotated from the first to a third position, the core can be operated by the individual key(s), thus inactivating the blocking function. Returning the control key from the third position to the first position allows removal of the control key (blocking function remains inactive).

    • A core assembly for a lock includes a core, a sleeve, and a housing. The core has a keyhole longitudinally defined therein. An elongated slot is defined beside and communicated with the keyhole. Multiple lower lock balls are received in the core and not aligned with the elongated slot. The sleeve is securely provided outside the core. The housing is provided outside the sleeve, and has multiple upper lock balls corresponding to the lower lock balls. The lower lock balls are not accessible directly through the keyhole and the elongated slot, so that it is impossible to unlock the lock by a tool without a correct key, and the lock has a high security.

    • A pin tumbler cylinder lock having a plug eccentrically positioned within a cylindrical bore of a housing. Surrounding the plug are longitudinally aligned sleeve segments that together therewith form a composite plug unit that can be rotated in the housing bore by a proper key. Formed on the outer surface of each sleeve segment coincident with pinways therein are recesses that are spaced from the recesses in adjacent sleeve segments. Additional internal recesses are formed in the inner surface of at least one of the sleeve segments closely adjacent a pinway extending therethrough. The internal recesses receive the tumbler pin when it is forced upwardly simultaneously with the application of torque on the plug. In one embodiment, the internal recess is a single recess coincident with the pinway and extending circumferentially therefrom. In another embodiment, the internal recess comprises a pair of recesses located on opposite sides of the pinway and spaced circumferentially therefrom.
