    • A reusable mud-sill to replace the conventional wooden-mud-sills and to capture without the use of tools the small-metal-plate conventionally found at the bottom of scaffold legs. Mud-sills are used to interface the bottom ends of scaffold legs, or the like, to the ground and to provide reasonable ground pressure while inhibiting side movement of a leg. The reusable mud-sill captures a small-metal-plate with two fixed opposing side-blocks, a fixed overlapping-retainer, and a sliding overlapping-retainer that may be locked to the reusable mud-sill when the conventional small-metal-plate has been captured. The cooperating, capturing parts are all centrally placed on the top of a flat-plate that is significantly larger than the small-metal-plate.

    • An improved mud sill, for use with a generally horizontal baseplate of a base screw jack of a vertical scaffolding member, is taught that is easy to install and remove without tools and with a minimal amount of labor required. The improved mud sill attaches securely to the baseplate of a screw jack or scaffolding assembly without the use of extraneous fasteners, such as nails or screws. A multi-layered recess is provided in the improved mud sill to receive a baseplate axially and then the improved mud sill can be rotated relative to the baseplate to secure it in place. Once installed the improved mud sill of this important invention is restricted three dimensionally to the baseplate and yet it can easily be removed by a counter-rotation. No tools or fasteners are required.

    • A supporting element for scaffolds includes a lower supporting plane or plate suited to be rested on the ground; ribs distributed on top of the lower plane or plate, integral with the lower plane or plate and all having their upper edge lying on the same plane, suited to constitute bearing elements for the bearing base of the scaffold and stiffening elements for the supporting element; a quadrilateral projection or wall, placed on top and generically at the center of the lower plane or plate, whose sides are higher than the ribs, suited to delimit the position where the bearing base of the scaffold rests on the ribs and to prevent the bearing base from slipping on the upper edges of the ribs; and a perimeter wall above the lower plane or plate, parallel to the upper ribs and delimiting the upper ribs.

    • The combination of: a scaffold assembly comprising a vertical member; a baseplate on the vertical member and having a downwardly facing surface; and a foot having a top surface and a bottom surface spaced in an axial direction. The foot has an opening in the top surface and a recess extending axially from the opening toward the bottom surface. The recess accepts the baseplate with the baseplate in an operative position. The downwardly facing surface bears on the foot so as to cause a downward force produced by the vertical member to be applied to the foot and distributed by the foot through the bottom surface to an underlying support surface for the scaffold assembly. The bottom surface on the foot has a peripheral edge that bounds an area that is greater than an area bounded by a peripheral edge of the baseplate.
