    • A tie system and method for forming a wall from a hardenable building material over an existing concrete wall. In one embodiment, the tie system includes multiple wall ties configured to be directly interconnected to form a wall tie stack such that multiple wall tie stacks can be positioned over the existing concrete wall in a spaced apart, vertically extending arrangement. The multiple wall tie stacks are configured to extend substantially perpendicular between substantially parallel panel structures. The tie system may be secured with the parallel panel structures to extend vertically as forms for a concrete wall and, if desired, transversely as forms for a concrete roof structure over, for example, a roof truss system, joined together with forms for forming a concrete eave portion. In this manner, the tie system may be employed to form a concrete building structure extending as the walls and roof of the structure.

    • A modular tie member which promotes flexibility in manufacturing ICF blocks of varying widths and heights, one embodiment including a pair of side wall bracket members each encapsulated within a respective panel member forming an ICF block and a web member pivotally attached to and extending between the side wall bracket members. Each bracket member may include an extension portion and/or another interlocking mechanism associated with each opposite end thereof positioned for overlapping and engaging similar members associated with similarly constructed tie members when one tie member is stackably arranged one on top of another tie member. The extension portions and/or the other interlocking mechanism extend into respective teeth associated with the horizontally opposed edges of the panel members for mating with the extension portions and/or the other interlocking mechanism of another tie member associated with a similarly constructed ICF block positioned in vertical arrangement thereto. In still another embodiment, the web member is a one-piece member which is slidably engageable with the pair of bracket members thereby allowing the ICF blocks to be field assembled at the construction site.

    • This invention relates to a novel combination tie end latch and reinforcing timber clamp characterized by bracket means mountable for tiltable movement about a transverse axis intermediate its ends on either a concrete form tie or tie-like connector projecting from the face of a pouring form wall or some appurtenance thereto, a shelf formed on the inside face of the bracket means at one side of its axis of tiltable movement shaped to receive and hold a timber and an adjustable push-rod carried by the bracket means on the opposite side of its axis of tiltable movement from the shelf, said push-rod being operative to tilt the bracket means and bias a timber resting against the shelf into tight reinforcing relation against the form wall or another similar timber upon movement thereof from its retracted position into extended position. The invention also encompasses a construction wherein one such clamp is provided with a tie-like connector projecting therefrom upon which a second bracket is mounted as a clamp for a second timber. Included within the invention is a novel latch means comprising a keyslot in the bracket means adapted for detachable connection to the end of a form tie or other pin-forming element and a stop associated therewith that prevents the release of said detachable connection under load.
