摘要： The cable coiling device automatically coils heavy-duty electrical cable into a coiled bundle having a predetermined coil diameter. This device matches the over/under coiling method used to manually coil cables that eliminate unnecessary twists and knots in cables. The cable coiling device has a first roller and a second roller that is angularly offset from the first roller. The angular offset adds a twist to the cable as it passes between the rollers. The device maintains the first and second rollers at a predetermined distance away from each other so that the cable does not slip out of the opening between the rollers. When the coil exits the rollers, the resulting cable is coil bundled and has a specific predetermined coil bundle diameter. Guide wheels positioned at specific locations guide the cable through the device, which prevents cable looping before and after the cable passes through the rollers.

摘要： A double-lay stranding machine for laying a predetermined amount of wire or stranded material on a reel comprises a lifting table for transfering empty reels to a reel carrier and for removing the full reels therefrom, the lifting table being provided with a pair of rollers for enabling the unwinding of a predetermined length of wire or strand from a wound reel during the removal process. The portion of the strand extending between a removed reel and a laying roller is automatically cut and held by a gripping and severing device. Upon the loading of an empty reel into the carrier, the leading free end portion of the wire or strand is automatically clamped to the outside surface of a reel flange and brought over the rim of the flange prior to a winding operation.

The invented machine comprises electro-mechanical means for automatically controlling the uniformity of the lay length of the twisted wire by correcting for changes in the velocity of the wire being fed into the machine due to wire build-up on the reel or to reversals of the traversing flyer. Additional control means are also disclosed for automatically controlling the points at which the flyer, in its reciprocating motion, reverses direction, thereby minimizing wire accumulations or recesses at the end flanges of the reel.
