摘要： A hermetically sealed filtered feedthrough assembly attachable to an AIMD includes an insulator hermetically sealing a ferrule opening of an electrically conductive ferrule with a gold braze. A co-fired and electrically conductive sintered paste is disposed within and hermetically seals at least one via hole extending in the insulator. At least one capacitor is disposed on the device side. An active electrical connection electrically connects a capacitor active metallization and the sintered paste. A ground electrical connection electrically connects the gold braze to a capacitor ground metallization, wherein at least a portion of the ground electrical connection physically contacts the gold braze. The dielectric of the capacitor may be less than 1000 k. The ferrule may include an integrally formed peninsula portion extending into the ferrule opening spatially aligned with a ground passageway and metallization of an internally grounded feedthrough capacitor. The sintered paste may be of substantially pure platinum.

A cutting tool includes this sintered body. 摘要： A nanocomposite material that can withstand prolonged contact with molten glass and glass precursor melts may include a cermet substrate and a glass reaction material overlying the cermet substrate. The cermet substrate may include a refractory metal matrix and ceramic particles embedded in the refractory metal matrix, and the glass reaction material may be the reaction product of molten glass and the cermet substrate in an inert environment. The nanocomposite material can be used to construct any kind of structure, such as an impeller or a vessel liner, that may be exposed to molten glass or glass precursor melts.

摘要： A method for producing a cermet composition, including mixing a first predetermined amount of a yttria stabilized zirconia powder with between 2 and 8 weight percent mu-metal powder to define a homogeneous admixture, oxidizing the mu-metal in the admixture, forming the homogeneous admixture into a green body, calcining the green body in a first reducing atmosphere to remove oxygen from the oxidized mu-metal to yield a calcined body, and sintering the calcined body in a second reducing atmosphere to yield a densified body having no more than 0.8% porosity. The densified body has a plurality of mu-metal particles distributed therethrough, a hardness of at least 1450 HV, flexural strength of at least 200 kPSI, and a relative permeability μ/μo of at least 850.

摘要： A method of manufacturing polycrystalline abrasive elements consisting of micron, sub-micron or nano-sized ultrahard abrasives dispersed in micron, sub-micron or nano-sized matrix materials. A plurality of ultrahard abrasive particles having vitreophilic surfaces are coated with a matrix precursor material in a refined colloidal process and then treated to render them suitable for sintering. The matrix precursor material can be converted to an oxide, nitride, carbide, oxynitride, oxycarbide, or carbonitride, or an elemental form thereof. The coated ultrahard abrasive particles are consolidated and sintered at a pressure and temperature at which they are crystallographically or thermodynamically stable.
