摘要： Alloys of titanium with 20-22 at. % niobium and 12-13 at. % zirconium. The alloys are prepared by mechanical alloying of elemental powders and densification by spark plasma sintering. The alloys have a nano-scaled, equiaxed granular structure, a microhardness of at least 650 HV and a modulus of 90-140 GPa. The inventive alloy is corrosion resistant, biocompatible, and is of a higher wear resistance and durability compared to the Ti-6Al-4V alloy. The bioactive surface of the inventive nanostructured alloy promotes a higher protein adsorption that stimulates new bone formation than other titanium-based alloys. These alloys are suitable for various biomedical and dental applications.

摘要： Disclosed are electrical contact materials and a method for preparing the same. The electrical contact material includes (i) one or more kinds of metals selected from the group consisting of silver (Ag), copper (Cu) and gold (Au), and an alloy of nickel (Ni); and (ii) carbon nano tubes (CNTs) coated with Ag nanoparticles, Ag plated CNTs, or Ag nanowires, or (i) one or more kinds of metals selected from the group consisting of Ag, Cu, Ni and Au; (ii) a metal oxide that is cadmium oxide, indium oxide, tin oxide, zinc oxide or mixture thereof; and (iii) CNTs coated with Ag nanoparticles, Ag plated CNTs, or Ag nanowires. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce the content of high-priced Ag and to obtain excellent electrical and mechanical properties.

The method includes the simultaneous application, inside a die, of a uniaxial pressure and of an electric current to a powder component material that has the following composition: 42 to 49% aluminum, 0.05 to 1.5% boron, at least 0.2% of at least one element selected from tungsten, rhenium and zirconium, optionally 0 to 5% of one or more elements selected from chromium, niobium, molybdenum, silicon and carbon, the balance being titanium and the total of the elements without aluminum and titanium being between 0.25 and 12%.

摘要： The present invention is a medical device for controlling the release of an active agent. The medical device has a supporting structure having a porous body disposed therein. At least one elution rate controlling matrix containing an effective amount of at least one active agent is disposed within the pores of the porous body in a manner that protects the matrix from mechanical damage. The medical device may therefore be used for controlled drug release applications. Additionally, the present invention discloses a method for using the medical device for the treatment and prevention of diseases in mammals. 摘要： A process and device in production of precise three-dimensional sinters of a shape substantially close to that of an original part, using flash sintering produced by spark plasma sintering (SPS) technology. A mold is produced in a die of an enclosure for SPS flash sintering, the mold being shaped as an impression of the original part. The following are deposited in successive layers in the mold: a layer based on a superalloy powder, a metallic protection layer, and a thermal barrier layer. In a sintering, pressurization is initiated and a pulsed current passes through, producing a rapid rise in temperature in accordance with a flash sintering cycle whose temperature, pressure, and duration are regulated, with at least one temperature plateau and one pressure plateau. The layer of superalloy forms, by diffusion, during the sintering, a bonding continuum of material with the part to be repaired.
