摘要： Four zebrafish gene promoters, which are skin specific, muscle specific, skeletal muscle specific and ubiquitously expressed respectively, were isolated and ligated to the 5′ end of the EGFP gene. When the resulting chimeric gene constructs were introduced into zebrafish, the transgenic zebrafish emit green fluorescence under a blue light or ultraviolet light according to the specificity of the promoters used. Thus, new varieties of ornamental fish of different fluorescence patterns, e.g., skin fluorescence, muscle fluorescence, skeletal muscle-specific and/or ubiquitous fluorescence, are developed.

摘要： A nucleic acid sequence, the rainbow trout interferon regulatory factor-1 (IRF1A) promoter, is disclosed. This promoter is capable of expressing a nucleic acid sequence operably linked to it in fish cells. IRF1A can be operably linked to antigenic sequences for fish or shellfish pathogens, thus inducing an immune response in a fish transformed with such a nucleic acid. Some of the vectors described utilize a nucleic acid containing an inducible promoter operably linked to a nucleic acid sequence encoding a polypeptide capable of inducing programmed cell death (PCD).

摘要： Disclosed are isolated transposable elements, or isolated DNA sequences which encode a transposase protein (or a portion of a transposase protein). The isolated transposable elements or the isolated DNA sequences being characterized by the ability to hybridize to the DNA sequence of Minos-1. The invention also relates to a purified transposase protein, or peptide fragments thereof, encoded by such DNA sequences. Such transposable are useful in methods for the stable introduction of a DNA sequence of interest into a cell. The invention further relates to transgenic animals produced by such methods. The sequence information disclosed herein is useful in the design of oligonucleotide primers which are useful for the isolation of related members of the Tc-1 family of transposable elements.
