摘要： The present invention discloses a novel apathogenic viral strain useful in the treatment of viral hepatitis infections. The preferred viral strain of Infectious Bursal Disease Virus (IBDV) is specifically characterized in terms of structure and biological activities. The invention also provides recombinant IBDV viral vectors for the inclusion of exogenous nucleic acid sequences enhancing the viral replication inhibitory effect of the virus of the invention. Preferably, the viral vector comprises a nucleic acid sequence encoding a cytokine. A method of treating viral hepatitis in a host comprising administering an anti-hepatitis effective amount of the IBDV strain of the present invention also provided.

摘要： Provided are compositions and methods for prophylaxis or therapy of cancer. The compositions and methods include use of Birnaviridae double stranded RNS (dsRNA) viruses for treating cancer in individuals that are not the normal virus hosts. Modifications of the dsRNA viruses are provided and include genetic changes that result improvements in anti-cancer therapy by increasing onxotoxicity of the modified viruses, and by including sequences encoding therapeutic pay loads.

摘要： The present invention discloses a novel apathogenic viral strain useful in the treatment of viral hepatitis infections. 摘要： The present invention relates to the display of antigenic or allergenic components along with a tissue-targeting component on viruses or virus-like particles. Capsid protein genes are recombinantly modified to contain the specified components then expressed within a host organism, such as yeasts, bacteria, or algae, and allowed to spontaneously form active virus particles or virus-like particles. The recombinant complexes (virus or virus-like particle) can then be purified or used in situ as a therapeutic tool for disease or allergy prevention. The expression of multivalent and multifunctional components to increase the immunogenicity of the recombinant complexes, especially on oral administration, is provided.

摘要： A system for the generation of live, nonpathogenic infectious pancreatic necrosis virus (IPNV), a segmented double-stranded (ds)RNA virus of the Birnavirdae family, using synthetic transcripts derived from cloned DNA has been developed. Independent full-length cDNA clones were constructed which contained the coding and non-coding regions of RNA segments A and B of IPNV, respectively. Segment A was modified to prevent the expression of NS protein. Synthetic RNAs of both segments were produced by in vitro transcription of linearized plasmids with T7 RNA polymerase. Transfection of CHSE cells with combined plus-sense transcripts of both segments generated infectious virus. The development of a system for producing NS protein deficient IPNV will greatly facilitate studies of viral pathogenesis, and the development of live attenuated vaccines for IPNV.
