摘要： A method of producing fatty alcohols comprises: introducing a fatty alcohol feedstock stream to a distillation column; forming a light outlet stream and a heavy outlet stream; condensing at least a portion of the light outlet stream to form a reflux stream; returning the reflux stream to a reflux inlet of the distillation column at a reflux ratio of greater than or equal to 2; and recovering a fatty alcohol product stream from an outlet of the distillation column, wherein the fatty alcohol product stream comprises a first mass percentage of the first fatty alcohol species (M), and a second mass percentage of the second fatty alcohol species (M2), and wherein a fatty alcohol mass ratio (M1/M2) of the fatty alcohol product stream is the first mass percentage divided by the second mass percentage, and wherein the fatty alcohol mass ratio is greater than or equal to 2.0.

摘要： Recombinant DNA techniques are used to produce oleaginous recombinant cells that produce triglyceride oils having desired fatty acid profiles and regiospecific or stereospecific profiles. Genes manipulated include those encoding stearoyl-ACP desturase, delta 12 fatty acid desaturase, acyl-ACP thioesterase, ketoacyl-ACP synthase, and lysophosphatidic acid acyltransferase. The oil produced can have enhanced oxidative or thermal stability, can be useful as a frying oil, shortening, roll-in shortening, tempering fat, cocoa butter replacement, as a lubricant, or as a feedstock for various chemical processes. The fatty acid profile can be enriched in midchain profiles or the oil can be enriched in triglycerides of the saturated-unsaturated-saturated type.

摘要： The present application is directed to the preparation of low viscosity bio-oils from the hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) of lignocellulosic biomass in the presence of a crude glycerol and water mixture achieving a high biomass conversion ratio. The modified HTL process allows the direct use of crude glycerol as an effective solvent for biomass liquefaction creating a highly efficient and cost-effective process. Furthermore, the resulting bio-oils containing liquefied biomass, crude glycerol and water, were successfully applied as an inexpensive green substitute in the preparation of bio-based phenol formaldehyde (BPF) adhesives which retain bonding strengths (dry or wet strength) as required by ASTM standard and free formaldehyde emission levels at the F*** and F**** level according to the JIS standard.

摘要： This invention provides a process for producing a high-purity sphingomyelin and a high-purity plasmalogen-form glycerophospholipid from a biological material by simple procedures at high yields. The process comprises the steps of: (A) subjecting dried total lipids extracted from a biological material to extraction treatment with a specific mixture solution to separate an insoluble portion composed mainly of sphingomyelin and a soluble portion; (B) subjecting the insoluble portion, obtained in said Step (A), to washing treatment with a specific mixture solution to obtain crude sphingomyelin; (C) subjecting the soluble portion, obtained in said Step (A), to washing treatment with a water-soluble ketone solvent to obtain crude plasmalogen-form glycerophospholipid; (D) causing an enzyme to act on the crude sphingomyelin, obtained in said Step (B), to obtain sphingomyelin having a purity of 90% or more; and (E) causing an enzyme to act on the crude plasmalogen-form glycerophospholipid, obtained in said Step (C), to obtain plasmalogen-form glycerophospholipid having a purity of 40% or more.
