摘要： The present disclosure describes a process for producing a surface-treated fabricated article, the process comprising providing a polyolefin resin; converting the polyolefin resin to a fabricated article; crosslinking at least a portion of the fabricated article; and modifying the surface of the fabricated article with a sulfuric acid, fuming sulfuric acid, or chlorosulfonic acid-containing solution surface-treating agent to yield the surface-treated fabricated article. The present disclosure further describes a process for producing a surface-treated fabricated article comprising providing a polyolefin resin; converting the polyolefin resin to a fabricated article; crosslinking at least a portion of the fabricated article; applying a sulfuric acid solution to the fabricated article; and heating the fabricated article in air or an inert environment.

摘要： Methods of forming polymer layers on polymer surfaces using surface initiated atom-transfer radical-polymerization (ATRP) are described. The method can include functionalization steps prior to performing surface initiated ATRP, such as hydroxylation steps and/or halogenation steps. The hydroxylation step can be carried out in a solution including potassium persulfate, ammonium persulfate, or lithium hydroxide. The halogenation step can also be carried out in a solution. The methods described herein can be performed on bundles of hollow polymer fibers, including bundles of hollow polymer fibers mounted in a module.

摘要： This invention relates to a novel elastomeric foamed material which has been found to exhibit a variety of unusual and desirable features both in its physical properties and in its process of manufacture. These foamed compositions of a lightly sulfonated elastomeric gum contain a non-volatile polar plasticizer and preferably extenders such as oil and fillers. These elastomer foams exhibit an unusual profile of physical properties including extremely rapid production, melt reprocessability of fabricated articles, a novel memory characteristic, and high temperature reshaping of foamed objects while maintaining a good foam structure. These novel foams can be manufactured with relatively uniform cell structures and with small cell sizes at foam densities from near bulk density to less than 0.1g/cc.

摘要： A polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell that includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a polyelectrolyte membrane and a solution of reduced graphene oxide and/or graphene oxide functionalized with metallized nanoparticles. The electrodes are coated with a polymer and the polyelectrolyte membrane has a hydrophobic exterior surface that is subjected to ultraviolet/ozone (UV/O3) exposure, which changes the hydrophobic, exterior surface to a hydrophilic exterior surface. The polyelectrolyte membrane is disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode and can include a sulfonated tetrafluoroethylene based fluoropolymer-copolymer. The solution forms a coating on the hydrophilic exterior surface of the polymer electrolyte membrane and the positive and negative electrodes. The positive and negative electrodes can be coated with a polymer, preferably polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) that can be subjected to ultraviolet/ozone (UV/O3) exposure. The metallized nanoparticles increase the efficiency of the fuel cell by at least 50% when the feed gas includes at least 1000 ppm carbon monoxide.
