摘要： Corn oil and corn meal obtained from high oil corn are included in useful products. The corn oil is extracted from the high oil corn to form the corn meal. The corn oil generally comprises levels of nutrients not found in commercially available corn oils, since most or all of the corn grain, rather than just the germ, is exposed to the extraction process. The corn grain generally includes the steps of flaking corn grain having a total oil content of at least about 8% and extracting a corn oil from the flaked corn grain. The corn oil is useful for making nutritionally enhanced edible oil or cooking oil, lubricants, biodiesel, fuel, cosmetics and oil-based or oil-containing chemical products. The extracted corn meal is useful for making enhanced animal feed rations, snack food, blended food products, cosmetics, and fermentation broth additive.

摘要： An efficient method for producing high quality beta glucan enriched soluble dietary fiber products is described. An aqueous extraction slurry of beta glucan-containing grain material is homogenized, acidified and enzymatically digested to reduce viscosity and optimize separation of insolubles from the aqueous extract solution. The resulting extract is heat processed to precipitate denatured protein components and subsequently dried or otherwise processed to provide the products for use as food additives or dietary supplements.

摘要： The invention concerns a process for extracting hemicellulose from fiber, such as corn fiber. The process comprises agitating at least fiber, caustic and optional added water at a moisture content from about 10% to about 60% at high speeds in a highly fluidized state. The process substantially instantaneously extracts the hemicellulose from the fiber. Heat may be applied in the process to extract and dry the hemicellulose substantially simultaneously.

摘要： The present invention relates to the production of a highly digestible, high protein product (high protein distillers dried grains or high protein DDG) from corn endosperm, and more particularly to a method for the recovery of high protein DDG by using: (i) dehulling and degermination to isolate a low fat, low fiber corn endosperm fraction, (ii) enzymatic hydrolysis to solubilize and alcoholic fermentation to assimilate the starch and non-starch carbohydrates present in the corn endosperm, and (iii) filtration and/or centrifugation to recover the dealcoholized insoluble solids that remain after fermentation of the corn endosperm. The present invention provides an alternative to the traditional dry mill method of processing corn to produce ethanol, and results in the production and recovery of a distillers' by-product (high protein DDG) with increased value and range of use as an ingredient in feeds for farm-raised ruminants and non-ruminants and pet foods. The product of the present invention contains less than about 2.0 weight percent starch, from about 55.0 to about 65.0 weight percent protein, from about 4.5 to about 7.5 weight percent fat, from about 3.0 to about 5.0 weight percent crude fiber, and from about 78.0 to about 90.0 percent total digestible nutrients, and improves the palatability and digestibility of animal feeds and/or pet foods into which it is incorporated, and aids in the management of the health and weight gain of the animal.

摘要： Disclosed is a method for treating a grain fiber, in particular corn fiber. In accordance with the disclosed subject matter, the fiber is subjected to alkaline hydrolysis in the presence of a hemicellulose ferulate esterase in an aqueous medium. The hemicellulose ferulate esterase is present in an amount effective to catalyze alkaline hydrolysis, and the alkaline hydrolysis is performed under conditions suitable to permit the hemicellulose ferulate esterase to catalyze alkaline hydrolysis. The initial pH of the aqueous medium is alkaline but is sufficiently low to permit the enzyme to have catalytic activity. Preferably, the pH is in the range from 8.0 to 9.5. From the product mixture thus formed, fiber oil, cellulose, hemicellulose, and other materials may be obtained.
