The pressure heat treatment apparatus comprises a pressure furnace storing and heat treating a target in a pressurized atmosphere, a pressure regulator for measuring the total pressure in the pressure furnace, an oxygen concentration meter for measuring the oxygen concentration in the pressure furnace and a controller for controlling the oxygen partial pressure in the pressure furnace in response to the total pressure measured by the pressure regulator and the oxygen concentration measured by the oxygen concentration meter.

摘要： A process for extruding a superconducting metal oxide composition YBa.sub.2 Cu.sub.3 O.sub.7-x provides a wire (tube or ribbon) having a cohesive mass and a degree of flexibility together with enhanced electrical properties. Wire diameters in the range of 6-85 mils have been produced with smaller wires on the order of 10 mils in diameter exhibiting enhanced flexibility for forming braided, or multistrand, configurations for greater current carrying capacity. The composition for extrusion contains a polymeric binder to provide a cohesive mass to bind the particles together during the extrusion process with the binder subsequently removed at lower temperatures during sintering. The composition for extrusion further includes a deflocculent, an organic plasticizer and a solvent which also are subsequently removed during sintering. Electrically conductive tubing with an inner diameter of 52 mil and an outer diameter of 87-355 mil has also been produced. Flat ribbons have been produced in the range of 10-125 mil thick by 100-500 mil wide. The superconducting wire, tube or ribbon may include an outer ceramic insulating sheath co-extruded with the wire, tubing or ribbon.

摘要： Complex metal oxides are formed by calcining in molecular oxygen such as air at least one bimetallic complex of the formula A[BY] wherein A and B are metals and Y is a ligand associated with B. The bimetallic complexes are precipitated from aqueous solution by a transposition reaction of AX and M[BY] wherein X is a disassociable anion and M is a cationic species. The bimetallic complexes are useful in forming pure complex metal oxide fibers by a process of either dispersing the complex metal oxide or bimetallic precursors in a spinning composition of fluid organic polymer or by imbibing a polymeric fiber with species AX and precipitating out the bimetallic complex by treating the imbibed fiber with a compound containing the BY complex. The process is also useful in forming superconductive complex metal oxides. The use of the bimetallic complex as precursors for the complex metal oxides provide improved mixing of the metal elements on an atomic scale and thus require less severe mixing and annealing conditions to form the oxide.

This technique involves the end of a rod of YBa.sub.2 Cu.sub.3 O.sub.x melted with a hydrogen-oxygen torch, followed by lowering onto the edge of a spinning wheel. The fibers are up to 10 cm in length with the usual lateral dimensions, ranging from 20 .mu.m to 125 .mu.m. The fibers require a heat treatment to make them superconducting.
