摘要： The present invention relates to carbon materials comprising carbon nanotubes, powders comprising carbon nanotubes and methods of making carbon nanotubes. In the methods of the present invention, the size and/or formation of floating catalyst particles is closely controlled. The resulting carbon nanotubes typically exhibit armchair chirality and typically have metallic properties. The carbon nanotubes produced by this method readily form bulk materials, which typically have a conductivity of at least 0.7×106 Sm−1 in at least one direction. The invention has particular application to the manufacture of components such as electrical conductors. Suitable electrical conductors include wires (e.g. for electrical motors) and cables (e.g. for transmitting electrical power).

摘要： (Problem)In conventional method for producing artificial graphite, in order to obtain a product having excellent crystallinity, it was necessary to mold a filler and a binder and then repeat impregnation, carbonization and graphitization, and since carbonization and graphitization proceeded by a solid phase reaction, a period of time of as long as 2 to 3 months was required for the production and cost was high and further, a large size structure in the shape of column and cylinder could not be produced. In addition, nanocarbon materials such as carbon nanotube, carbon nanofiber and carbon nanohorn could not be produced.(Means to solve)A properly pre-baked filler is sealed in a graphite vessel and is subsequently subjected to hot isostatic pressing (HIP) treatment, thereby allowing gases such as hydrocarbon and hydrogen to be generated from the filler and precipitating vapor-phase-grown graphite around and inside the filler using the generated gases as a source material, and thereby, an integrated structure of carbide of the filler and the vapor-phase-grown graphite is produced. In addition, nanocarbon materials are produced selectively and efficiently by adding a catalyst or adjusting the HIP treating temperature.

摘要： The present invention relates to a method of reproducing at least one single-walled carbon nanotube (3) having predefined electronic properties or a plurality of single-walled carbon nanotube (3) having the same electronic properties. A dispersion (2) is produced for this purpose and carbon nanotubes (3) contained in the dispersion are processed into fragments (6) by energy input. 摘要： The invention provides a composite comprising a substrate and a membrane of vertically aligned carbon nanotubes formed on the substrate which membrane is independent of the material of the substrate and a process for the production of the same. A process for producing the first composite comprising the first substrate and vertically aligned carbon nanotubes formed on the first substrate which comprises the step (a) of preparing the second composite comprising the second substrate made of quartz or silicon and vertically aligned carbon nanotubes formed on the second substrate, the step (b) of subjecting the second composite to water immersion wherein the temperature (Tw) of the water is higher than the temperature (Tc) of the second composite with a temperature difference ΔT (=Tw−Tc) of at least 25° C. to make the carbon nanotubes peel off the second substrate and arrange them either in water or on the surface thereof, and the step (c) of arranging the resulting vertically aligned carbon nanotubes on the first substrate.

摘要： An aggregate of carbon nanotubes has an acid adsorption amount equal to or greater than 0.6 mass % and equal to or less than 12 mass %, which is obtained by subjecting a starting material composition containing carbon nanotubes to a two-stage wet oxidation treatment. A method of producing an aggregate of carbon nanotubes includes a primary oxidation treatment step, wherein a starting material composition containing carbon nanotubes is subjected to a wet oxidation treatment to give a primary treated aggregate of carbon nanotubes having a ratio (G/D ratio) of the height of G band to that of D band in Raman spectroscopic analysis at 532 nm wavelength equal to or greater than 30; and a secondary oxidation treatment step of performing a wet oxidation treatment under an oxidizing condition stronger than that of the primary oxidation treatment step.
