摘要： Embodiments of the present invention may include beading for decorating a target member. The beading has a linear member, a leg portion and a colored portion. The linear member has a main portion formed of a light-transmitting material. The linear member has a first end and a second end opposite the first end on an outer periphery thereof. The leg portion extends from the first end of the linear member. The leg portion has a sewn portion that is sewn onto the target member by sewing thread. The colored portion is provided in the linear member or the leg portion. The colored portion has a smaller quantity of transmitting light than that of the main portion. The colored portion is situated and configured to suppress the visibility of the sewing thread when the linear member is seen from above the second end.

摘要： Decorative plastic welt has an elongated, decorative, arcuate, bead portion formed of a first plastic material. An integral elongated plastic flange extends from said bead along its length to an outer flange edge and defines a first flange portion adjacent the bead and a second integral flange portion extending from the first portion to the flange edge. The second portion is an elongated see-through plastic strip which permits the flange to be aligned with sheet materials on either side so that positioning notches in the sheet materials can be matched by visual observation through the strip.

摘要： A double or single welt for use in the upholstered furniture and other industries, as well as a method and an apparatus for making such welts. The double welt comprises an elongated strip of textile or other material with its longitudinal edges folded or rolled inwardly to ward each other to form two tubes, into which cords are preferably introduced, the outer surface of teach infolded edge portion engaging the inner surface of the unfolded central portion of the strip and being permanently secured thereto as by adhesive, the cords being free to move longitudinally within the strip material. The single welt may be formed by slitting a double welt made as stated, or by forming a single fold or tube from a narrower strip of material, utilizing essentially the same method of folding or rolling the material upon itself, inserting a cord if desired, and securing the outer surface of the folded material to the inner surface of the unfolded material. An apparatus suitable for performing the stated method comprises a folder mechanism, an adhesive applying means, and means for advancing the material (and cords if used) through said mechanism and past said adhesive applying means.

摘要： A welt seaming lace assembly, for forming welted seams for upholstered furniture, formed of a thin, flexible, thermoplastic core covered with an open braided mesh formed of thread, and a heat reactable adhesive coating the thread and core, and a thin, thermoplastic, outer covering, including an integral sewing flange, hot extruded around the adhesive coated mesh covered core. The adhesive coating is applied hot to momentarily soften the core for both adhesively bonding to and partially embedding the thread in the surface of the core. Later, after cooling, the extrusion of the outer covering reactivates the adhesive for adhesively bonding the core and threads to and partially embedding the threads in the outer covering.

摘要： A seam for use in a vehicle armrest or other interior component. The seam includes a first material and a second material joined to the first material. The seam also includes a T-member connected to the first material and the second material to form a French seam appearance on the outer surface of the material. The T-member is then used to align with a groove in a foam of an armrest or other interior component to create an exterior seam on an armrest or interior component of a vehicle. The seam is created using a guide member attached to a sewing machine that will allow for sewing of the first material and second material to the T-member in a simultaneous process at a predetermined speed thus increasing efficiency of manufacturing the upholstery panel and reducing costs to the manufacturer.

摘要： An edging strip for softening a rigid edge of a framing element in an upholstered furniture article. The edging strip includes a core and a securing layer. The form core may be formed in at least part from a foam material, such as recycled polyethylene. The securing layer may be formed in at least part from a nonwoven cloth material. The nonwoven cloth material is wrapped around the foam core such that foam core is encapsulated by the cloth and the cloth forms a tab for securing the foam core to the framing element. The tab may be defined by a first end and a second end of the cloth that are bonded together. For example, the two ends may be bonded by an ultrasonic weld. Also, at least a portion of the foam core may be adhered to at least a portion of the nonwoven securing layer.
