    • A system and method for dispensing a predetermined portion of a beverage or drink additive using a cost effective portion control valve that replaces electrical components with mechanical components. The present invention dispenses a controlled portion of a beverage when a lever is activated. A magnetically coupled linkage system can control the exact amount of fluid dispensed. A valve block contains a beverage input, a beverage outlet, and a valve seal. A lever arm is connected to the valve seal and connected to a magnetic housing containing a valve magnet. A yoke pivots about the valve block where the yoke contains a yoke magnet aligned to interface with the valve magnet. A lever arm return spring is connected to the lever arm and the valve block to bias the lever arm return spring to a resting position. As the yoke pivots beyond a predetermined distance, the yoke magnet separates from the valve magnet allowing the lever arm to return to the resting position closing the valve.

    • A simple and reliable locking device for a quick-action connection coupling for transferring gaseous and/or liquid fluids, especially for refuelling vehicles, is provided. Said device comprises a hand lever (50) for actuating a valve and a lock which is positioned on the end side thereof and engages with a hand grip (45) in the refuelling position. The unlocking lever (46) comprises at least one, preferably two laterally protruding journals (47), arranged inside the hand grip (45), especially for simple handling.

A protective guard member encloses the lever, and a trigger member is pivotally connected to the lever for manual movement to engage a stop supported by the guard member. A torsion wire coil spring includes a plurality of helical turns surrounding the pivot pin for the trigger member and has one projecting end portion engaging the lever and an opposite end portion biasing the trigger member.

    • A brace has been invented for releasably maintaining a control lever of a gasoline pump apparatus in a selected position, the brace, in certain aspects, having a body member, at least two pairs of spaced-apart opposed separation members on the body member, including at least a first pair and a second pair, the first pair spaced-apart a first distance and the second pair spaced-apart a second distance which is different from the first distance. In another aspect the brace has a hole through the body member; and in certain aspects, an item is releasably disposed through the hole in the body member. In other aspects one or more channels between two of the separation members facilitates flexing of the body member. In another aspect, a brace has been invented which has a first part, a second part, a spring having a core portion, a first end connected to the first part, and a second end connected to the second part, and the spring urging the two parts to move together rotating about the spring's core portion. A strap, chain, or other connector may be connected to or formed integrally of the device so that it is connectable to a part of an automobile, e.g. near the gas tank inlet or the door covering it, so that a user will have it readily available and to prevent loss of the device.

    • A fluid dispensing nozzle for gasoline or the like includes a cast body having an inlet, an outlet, a valve seat between the inlet and the outlet, and a hand guard. Mounted in and on the cast body are a poppet valve for controlling flow through the valve seat, a spring urging the poppet valve closed, a valve stem extending into the poppet valve, a cast lever engaging the valve stem for manually urging the poppet valve away from its seat, and a high-level shut-off means for disabling the lever. The high level shut-off means includes a plunger to which the actuating lever for the nozzle is pivoted, a latch pin, latching balls, and a cylindrical sleeve which acts as a guide for the plunger and as a stop for the latching balls. A hold-open clip is pivoted to the integral hand guard and engages latching teeth on the lever. Release of the high-level shut-off causes a heel portion of the lever to force the clip out of engagement with the teeth.
