摘要： This document describes a capping-decapping device for screw-capped tubes or vessels. Caps of screw-capped vessels are inserted into an inverted channel. A high-traction surface and a low-friction surface comprise opposite walls. The cap unscrews as it is pushed forward, and is held in the device once unscrewed. The vessel can be recapped by pulling the cap back toward the user. Additional features of the device may be added to improve usability, such as making it easier to open caps of varying diameters or to detect the presence of a cap in the device.

A torsion limit assembly couples the head assembly to the handle assembly. The torsion limit assembly is configured to facilitate selective pivoting movement of the handle assembly relative to the head assembly. The head assembly includes a head tool coupled to the handle assembly. The head assembly also includes a split band compression ring pivotably coupled to the head tool for pivoting between a nested position within the head tool and a deployed position for facilitating positioning of the band compression ring frame around a canning jar closure band.

摘要： An accessory for coupling a torque measuring device to a container cap, especially a smooth sided closure. The accessory includes two clamp elements movably coupled together by a threaded rod so the clamps can be forced into frictional engagement with a cap. A mount block is included for coupling the torque measuring device to the clamps so cap closing torque can be measured using an inexpensive and easily used device. This device will be especially useful for laboratories, fillers and shippers of containers that have been closed with a cap having a certain amount of closure torque so the user can demonstrate to DOT that the closing torque is in the proper range.

摘要： A screw-lid removal and attachment device for removal and attachment of screw-lids includes a housing that is tubular. The housing has an annular wall that is deformable and extends downwardly from a top, defining a bottom that is open. The bottom, which defines a cavity positioned in the housing, is substantially complementary to a lid to be removed or attached to a container. A grip is coupled to an exterior of the annular wall. A catch is coupled to an interior of the annular wall. The cavity is configured for insertion of a lid. The grip is configured to be grasped by the user to collapse the annular wall, such that the catch engages the lid. The grip is configured to allow the user to impart a counter-clockwise force to the housing for removal of the lid or a clockwise force to attach the lid.
