    • A traversing device for stabilizing the yarn path of a thin and uniform flat fiber bundle without causing any trouble, e.g. entanglement of single fibers, and ensuring a good winding appearance of the winding package of fiber bundle, and a yarn path guide for stabilizing the yarn path without causing any trouble, e.g. entanglement of single fibers. The yarn path guide for guiding a traveling yarn comprises a guide roll and a guide roll supporting member wherein the supporting member has a rotating shaft at a position twisted at a right angle to the rotating shaft of the guide roll. The yarn path guide is arranged such that the guide roll is inclined with respect to the yarn path through rotation of the supporting member about the rotating shaft in response to variation of the yarn path and the fiber bundle is guided automatically in the yarn path direction. The traversing device further comprises a yarn guide mechanism for guiding a fiber bundle performing such an operation that a traverse guide deviates from the yarn path in the original yarn path direction.

    • A process and device are disclosed for producing a package of elongated winding material. A winding bobbin (50) has a conical winding core (52) and a first detachable flange (53) arranged at the side of the winding core (52) having the smaller diameter, and a second flange (54) arranged at the other side of the winding core (52). The winding bobbin (50) is held in a winding device by means of bobbin holding members (103, 104) which center both flanges (53, 54) and are supported on their surface opposite to the winding core (52). The elongated winding material (D) is then wound on the bobbin (50), the winding process being controlled in such a way that a predetermined type of bobbin is obtained. In particular when a plastic bobbin (50) is used, the package is easy to transport but is at the same time very resistant, so that additional packaging measures may be dispensed with. Packaging waste may thus be almost entirely avoided.

    • A microprocessor-based system for controlling a product roving process employing a pair of substantially identical high speed creel assemblies each of which being adapted to operatively carry a plurality of strand-serving packages having individual fiberous strands of material wound thereon. The individual strands are served out and gathered into groups to be collected as a roving on a collet which is turned by a winding motor. The microprocessor system controls the speed and acceleration of the winding motor and the number of strands which are being wound to form a desired product package. The system provides for a plurality of standby strands which are available to be automatically inserted into the system when a break or "end out" condition occurs in any of the operating strands being wound.
