摘要： Printed products produced by assembling on saddle-shaped supports are conveyed onwards lying on the supports and during this conveyance are processed in the area of their fold line between a tool acting from outside and a counter-tool acting from inside, i.e., from the supported side. For being processed, the printed products are lifted off from the saddle line of the supports by the counter-tools, such that a relative movement between the saddle-shaped support and the counter-tool does not deform or damage the printed products. Through this measure it becomes possible to design the circuit of the supports and the circuit of the counter-tools largely independent of one another. The supports or their saddle lines respectively, for example, are able to move through the processing zone in a straight line, while the distal ends of the counter tools circulate on a round circuit.

摘要： A press for stitching book block sections employs a transport system for transporting book sections to a stitching station. Carriages are mounted to an endless conveyor. A saddle is pivotally mounted to each of the carriages. The book sections are received on the saddle and transported to the stitching station in a continuous fashion. The pivotal swing of the saddles is controlled by rollers engaging cam paths as the conveyor is circulated.

摘要： To provide for transfer of folded products, such as folded printed sheets received from a printing machine, between storage bins and a conveyor transport system, transport sheets which, at least in part, are magnetizable, are retained in the storage bins; a transfer element (9) in form of an endless elongated belt or the like has electromagnets secured thereto which are selectively energized to pick up the transfer sheets. The transfer element or belt is guided in a path past a delivery end (7") of a storage holder, then into the path of the transport system (2, 3) for transfer of folded products (1) from or to the sheets, and return of the sheets to a receiving end of the storage bin, at which point the magnets are deenergized to release the sheets into the bin, and can continue to travel--while deenergized--in an endless path for subsequent pick-up of sheets.

摘要： A conveyor for use with a machine which applies covers to books of the type where the individual pages are loosely bound by means of mechanical binder elements having rounded teeth. The conveyor includes multiple saddle plates, coupled to endless chains, which are caused to move into engagement with the bound batches of pages. The saddle plates are provided with serrated leading edge portions which fit between the teeth of the binding elements to accurately position the bound pages relative to the saddle plates.
