摘要： A machine for quickly and efficiently rolling carpet runners or mats after laundering, for storage, transport and reuse may include a set of belts for generally horizontal travel and an interacting set of belts for generally vertical travel and guide means for directing the leading edge of a carpet runner from engagement with the horizontal belts to engagement with the vertical belts. An assembly including a plurality of arcuate fingers cooperates with the belts to guide the leading edge of a carpet runner into the beginning of a roll and to assist in formation of a tight compact roll of carpet. The machine may include means for driving the belts, means for retracting the finger assembly from a completed rolled carpet runner, and controls for the means. The machine may include a safety apparatus including a light curtain.

The method comprises the steps of: a) providing a conveyor belt having opposed first and second surfaces; b) providing a pressure assist device proximate to the second surface of the conveyor belt; c) disposing the web material on the first surface of the conveyor belt; d) providing at least one winding spindle having a speed profile proximate to the web material disposed upon the first surface of the conveyor belt; e) adjusting a position of at least one of the conveyor belt and the pressure assist device relative to the winding spindle to provide a compressive force to the surface of the winding spindle by the conveyor belt; f) adjusting a speed of the at least one winding spindle according to the speed profile; and, g) transferring the web material to the at least one winding spindle from the conveyor belt.

The web transfer device communicates with a core in order to wind the web via surface winding. At least one pair of rotationally driven end chucks are located proximate to the web transfer device. The end chucks engage the core and the web is wound onto the core via center winding by the rotating end chucks. Also, the web is wound onto the core to form a rolled product by a combination of the center winding and the surface winding.

A veneer reeling apparatus comprises: a take-up reel disposed in a veneer sheet reeling position in a rotatable manner; a drive roller disposed on the lower surface of the take-up reel, transmitting a driving force with a variable speed; a veneer dryer disposed upstream from the veneer sheet reeling position; a conveyor provided between the terminal end of the veneer dryer and the drive-roller in the veneer sheet reeling position; and a plurality of thread feeding mechanisms disposed at arbitrary spatial intervals along a length direction of the take-up reel for a veneer sheet, wherein a continuous dried veneer sheet or dried veneer sheets whose sizes are of a constant length or of a length at random are wound on the take-up reel to form a veneer roll with threads as guide by a frictional force of the drive roller. Further, pairs of two overlapping veneer sheets or sets of a pair of two overlapping veneer sheets and a single veneer sheet can be wound on the take-up reel in a composite form.
