The rear wall includes rear wall corner posts, a hinge on the rear wall corner posts and a rear wall door joined to the hinge, where the rear wall door can pivot on the hinge to extend adjacent an exterior surface of the sidewall structure or can pivot into the volume of the reversibly foldable freight container. In an unfolded state the reversibly foldable freight container has a predefined width measured at a predetermined point on each of two of the rear wall corner posts. A plurality of jointed members in the floor structure allows the reversibly foldable freight container in an unfolded state to move toward a folded state so that the predetermined points on the rear wall corner posts do not extend beyond the predefined width of the reversibly foldable freight container in the unfolded state.

摘要： The present invention is concerned with a novel freight container with improved characteristics. The container has a first portion and a second portion. The container is adapted to assume a first configuration in which the container has a maximum volume and a third configuration in which said container has a minimum volume. In the first configuration, the second portion is extended away from said first portion; side walls of said first and second portions are extending vertically in normal use; and at least some of said side walls are foldable. In the second configuration said side walls are folded in such a way to allow top walls of the first and second portions and bottom walls of the first and second portions be brought towards and adjacent each other whereby the minimum volume of the container is achieved.

摘要： A collapsible shipping container includes a floor, a roof, and a pair of bifolding sidewalls, that collapse accordion style to place the sidewalls and roof in a configuration wherein the roof is collapsed onto the sidewalls, and the sidewalls are collapsed onto the floor. The container further includes a pair of end walls having upper and lower end wall sections. The upper end wall sections may be lowered by activation of a power source to lie on the roof in the collapsed configuration. Collapse and erection of the shipping container may be accomplished with the aid of auxiliary equipment, such as a fork lift.
