摘要： A container includes a rigid outer box and a rigid inner box wherein a pull tab is configured to reseal a pre-cut opening in the inner box. The pull tab includes a cover layer larger than the pre-cut opening. The cover layer can be a piece of bundle wrap with a paper layer of the bundle wrap contacting the consumer goods inside the box. The outer box has a hinged lid permanently attached to a connecting tab of the pull tab whereby opening the hinged lid simultaneously opens the pre-cut opening in the inner box by lifting the pull tab. The connecting tab includes adhesive which is partially deadened to decrease adhesion of the connecting tab to the inner box. The pull tab can also include one or more machine readable markings to enhance automated application of the pull tab to an inner box blank during manufacturing of the container.

摘要： A package (1) comprises a container enveloped in a wrapper (80) The wrapper (80) comprises a film (81) with overlapping portions which are sealed together. The wrapper (80) further comprises a tear strip (82) extending at least partially around the container and having an end tab. The wrapper is configured such that pulling the tab causes a tear to propagate through the film and the tear strip to come away from the container and the entire film to come away from the container attached to the tear strip. The tear strip (82) is defined by two reinforcing tear tapes (83a, 83b) on either side of the tear strip. Each tear tape (83a, 83b) has a respective first remote end (84a, 84b) at the tab, and the two tear tapes extend from the tab and diverge away from each other at least partially around the container such that the width of the tear strip enlarges around at least a part of the perimeter of the container. The tear tapes (83a, 83b) have respective second remote ends (86a, 86b) which are spaced from each other and spaced from the tab.

摘要： An easy open apparatus for multi-wall bags and a method for making such bags are disclosed. The bag has a closed end and an open end and the rear panel is stepped relative to the upper edge of the front panel. A tear-tape strip is adhered to an inner surface of a flap formed in the outer layer of the front panel and extends partly across the panel with ends of the tear-tape exposed. To open the bag, the user grasps one exposed end of the tear-tape and pulls it outwardly away from the bag, thereby tearing the outer paper layer across the flap to form a “pocket” or “handle” that the user may grasp to tear the bag open.

摘要： A packaging article has tear initiators for initiating a manual tear that can be propagated to open a package and allow a product to be readily removed therefrom, without the use of a knife or scissors or any other implement. The packaging article is made from a heat-shrinkable multilayer film having at least one layer containing an incompatible polymer blend, and/or a layer containing an inorganic filler, and/or a layer having a high Young's modulus. The film also has a Peak Load Impact Strength of at least 50 Newtons per mil, The tear initiators can be used to generate a manual machine direction tears to open the package, with the manual machine direction tear being capable of propagating in the machine direction to the opposite edge of the packaging article. A process for making a package and manually opening the package is also disclosed.

摘要： A bag construction for use to distribute flowable material is provided. The bag construction generally includes first and second panels or panel sections oriented juxtaposed to one another. In one end of the bag construction, a base gusset is provided between the panels. The base gusset includes apertures therein, for distribution of flowable materials. In preferred embodiments, a rib-and-trough closure arrangement is provided so that the pouch construction can be selectively closed to inhibit distribution of material, when desired. Methods of preparing such arrangements and methods of use are provided.
