摘要： A container adapted for storing a product is provided. The container includes a body having a bottom wall and a side wall. The bottom wall and the side wall define an internal storage compartment adapted for storage of a plurality of units of a product. The side wall has an outer peripheral surface. A rib structure is engaged with the body about the outer peripheral surface of the side wall and extends outwardly therefrom. A cover is configured to be removably engaged with the body. The cover includes a top wall and a peripheral flange having an inner surface. The inner surface is substantially smooth and is configured to interact with the rib structure when the cover is received over the outer peripheral surface of the side wall so as to form an interference fit.

摘要： Provided is a moisture retention seal for use with a package. The moisture retention seal includes an opened-ended canister having a plurality of canister sealing surfaces. Snap-fitted with spatial interference to the canister at its opened-end, is a moisture retention closure having a plurality of closure sealing surfaces. Each canister sealing surface cooperates with a corresponding one of the closure sealing surfaces to form a plurality of partial seals. At least one of the partial seals includes a micro-bead surface comprising one or more small, inwardly directed, narrowly spaced-apart, micro-bead elements. The package that includes a moisture retention seal of the present invention employs only molded parts and does not require gaskets or secondary seals.

摘要： A flat planar lid for ovenable containers is described which is uniquely shaped to permit the lid to be manually secured to a flanged ovenable container thereby effectively closing and sealing the flanged container without the need to use automatic sealing equipment. The planar lid is shaped to provide a longitudinal tab overlapping each longitudinal edge of the container, a transverse tab overlapping each transverse edge of the container, and a corner tab overlapping each corner of the container. These tabs of the lid are tucked over the container flange and adhesively bonded to the underlying surface thereof. Venting is provided to permit a mechanism for venting internal steam to the atmosphere when the container and its contents are heated. The corner tabs have a lesser outboard reach than the outboard reach of either the longitudinal or transverse tabs to provide a smooth and substantially flat adhesive bond with the underflange surface.
