To increase the load-bearing capacity of a pack made from thin packaging material, for example paper, a blank for an outer wrapping (14) is provided with local reinforcements, namely, for example, reinforcing strips 15, 16, 17, 18 which are arranged at distances from one another and parallel to one another preferably on the inside of the blank, and which are connected to the latter. As regards outer wrappings (14) having windows or recesses (19) for affixing revenue stamps, etc. to the wrapped cigarette packs (10), the reinforcing strips (15 to 18) extend in such a way that transverse webs (22) formed between the recesses (19) each have a reinforcement.

摘要： A new way of shipping cartons and other packages so as to minimize the cost and the resource used. In one embodiment, the invention comprises the use of two or more films shrink wrapped about the packages which are juxtaposed to form a unit. At least one of the films is opaque and at least one of the films is clear. The opaque film is sufficiently resistant to the transmission of light such that UPC bar codes present on the individual packages cannot be read through the film by bar code reading machines. The shrink wrap in place about the unit may include one or more gripping openings.

The wrap around band is adhesively attached to two adjacent sides of the package group symmetrically with the interface between the two packages of the group. Each package has a pricing bar code on one surface thereof, and the packages are oriented so that the surface of each package having the bar code face to the same side of the package group. The wrap around band is fabricated of a transparent material and includes an opaque panel asymmetrically located to one side of the longitudinal centerline of the band. The opaque panel is positioned, sized and configured to completely cover the pricing bar code on only one of the packages of the group.

摘要： A tray-like storage and display package is formed from a flexible material, which is preferably transparent, such as polyethylene which is wrapped about the sides of an array of containers and underlies at least a portion of the bottom of the array. Handles preferably formed by the film itself as a result of the folding pattern used in assembling the package, are provided. The film normally has little or no tension about the array of containers thereby allowing free removal of containers. The position of the handle means is such that the application of lifting force to them also imparts circumferential tension tightening the material thereby uniting the containers into an integral unit to allow handling.
