    • A steering arm yoke and trunnion assembly for a marine propulsion system includes a steering arm and a yoke including integral fluid paths for trim actuator fluids and for cooling water for an outboard powerhead mounted to a horizontal mounting plate within a platform extending from a boat hull. The steering arm and yoke include a drum extending through the horizontal mounting plate for rotating an attached propeller drive unit. The fluid paths extend through the drum, which is rotatably mounted to the horizontal mounting plate. The yoke includes pivot arms for attachment to a trunnion that includes actuator brackets for trim actuators fluidly connected to the actuator fluid paths of the drum.

    • Disclosed herein is marine apparatus comprising a boat including a hull, an outboard motor including a propulsion unit having a rear side and mounted on the hull for pivotal movement relative thereto between a trimmed-in position, a tilted-up position, and a trimmed-out position between the trimmed-in position and the tilted-up position, a cover which extends above the propulsion unit and which is mounted on the hull for movement relative thereto about an axis located forwardly of the rear side of the propulsion unit and between a lower position wherein the cover affords movement of the propulsion unit between the trimmed-in position and the trimmed-out position, and an upper position wherein the cover affords movement of the propulsion unit to the tilted-up position, and engaging surfaces on the motor and on the cover for moving the cover from the lower position to the upper position in response to movement of the propulsion unit from the trimmed-out position to the tilted-up position.

    • Several embodiments of improved sealing arrangements for sealingly engaging an auxiliary power unit and the portion of the hull of a water craft that defines an opening through which the power unit drive extends. In each embodiment the seal has an opening that is sized to pass the power unit and an arrangement is provided for forcing the seal into sealing engagement with the power unit. In some embodiments two axially spaced seals are provided and an arrangement is incorporated for limiting the degree of relative movement by the power unit and the hull. In one embodiment a water sensor is positioned in the area between the two spaced seals for detecting failure of one of the seals. The support for the sensor is such that it may be removed and inserted along with the power unit without damage to the seal.
