摘要： A wireless water ski handle system used with a personal water ski towing watercraft that includes a handle component that selectively attaches to a standard water ski handle and contains a manual control module and a wireless transmitter. The control module includes directional control buttons, power ON and OFF buttons, and power Up and Down buttons. Located in the watercraft is a wireless receiver that communicates with the transmitter. Coupled to the receiver is a self-correcting propulsion and steering system that senses undesirable changes to the watercraft's motion caused by the water-skier when pulled by the watercraft. When a difference is detected, a command module located in the watercraft automatically controls the watercraft's propulsion and steering systems so the watercraft follows the desired path and velocity. The system also includes an auto-back tracking feature that automatically reduces power to the last known marked geographic point the skier was upright.

摘要： An improved handle for towing a person, such as a water skier, has a configuration which matches the natural shape of the grip of human hands as they hold the handle. The handle includes an upwardly and forwardly sloping lower section which is engaged by one hand of the skier. An upper section of the handle also slopes upwardly and forwardly and is engaged by the other hand of the skier. The upper and lower sections of the handle are interconnected by a connector section which extends rearwardly from an upper end of the lower section of the handle to the lower end of the upper section of the handle. This results in the upper and lower sections of the handle being offset so that the hands of the skier are disposed with the palm of one hand on a first side of the handle and a palm of the other hand on the opposite side of the handle. Due to the natural orientation of the palm of the upper hand of the skier when he is gripping the handle, the upper section of the handle slopes forwardly to a greater extent than the lower section of the handle.

A control float is connected to the boat by a line and the water skier uses a two-handed grip on separate handles attached to the float. One handle is fixed to the float and the other can be rotated through an arc and about a substantially horizontal axis. The movable handle is used to operate hydraulic means which actuates a steering nozzle on the boat. The fixed handle has a trigger-like control lever which opens and closes the engine throttle through operating means. Circuit means including two switches one on each handle enables the skier to start the motor as well as to bring it to a fast stop in an emergency.

摘要： A source of power drives the device on land or water. A pair of elongated handles extend forwardly of the device between which the operator is positioned. Water or snow skis, wheel skates or skis, a togobban platform and wheels and the like are worn or used by the operator depending upon the medium upon which the device is used. A travel surface activated assembly automatically shuts off the source of power and provides braking of the unit thus preventing the unit from running over the operator in the event that the operator falls. The actuator assembly operates either if the operator falls accidentally or, alternatively, if he lowers the handles so that the actuator engages the surface. The entire unit is designed to be easily folded or disassembled so that it can be carried in the trunk of a car or the like.
