    • A bicycle derailleur comprises a base member adapted to be mounted to a bicycle; a movable member movably coupled to the base member; a chain guide coupled to the movable member through a pivot shaft, wherein the chain guide is coupled for rotation around a rotational axis (X); a biasing element that biases the chain guide in a selected rotational direction around the rotational axis (X); and a resistance applying unit that applies a resistance to rotational movement of the chain guide in a direction opposite the selected rotational direction. The resistance applying unit includes a roller clutch disposed between the movable member and the pivot shaft, wherein the roller clutch includes a roller; an intermediate member disposed between the roller and the pivot shaft, wherein the intermediate member moves relative to the pivot shaft; and a first friction member including a first contact area that is substantially perpendicular to the rotational axis (X), wherein the first friction member communicates rotational force between the pivot shaft and the intermediate member.

A chain guide assembly is rotatably connected to the movable member and a damper assembly is operatively disposed between the chain guide assembly and the movable member. The damper assembly includes a damper disposed in the movable member, and a one-way clutch disposed between the damper and the chain guide assembly.     • A rear derailleur for a bicycle includes a base member for attaching the rear derailleur to the bicycle, a movable member for supporting a chain guide, and a linkage mechanism coupling the base member to the movable member so that the movable member is capable of movement relative to the base member. An electrically operated actuating member is operatively coupled to the linkage mechanism, wherein moving the actuating member in a first direction causes the movable member to move laterally toward a rear wheel of the bicycle, and moving the actuating member in a second direction causes the movable member to move laterally away from the rear wheel of the bicycle. A power storing mechanism is disposed in a power transmission path between the actuating member and the movable member for storing relative forces applied between the actuating member and the movable member.

    • A parallelogram link mechanism of a bicycle derailleur has a coil spring tensioned from a first axis of the parallelogram to another axis thereof that is diametrically opposed to the first axis. The coil spring exerts a primary spring force against the rider-supplied derailleur actuation force throughout the actuation range of the derailleur. A secondary member exerts a secondary force throughout a portion of the actuation range of the derailleur, producing a substantially constant resultant actuation force experienced by the rider. The secondary member can take various forms, including an abutment member which selectively abuts the coil spring at an angle to the spring axis; a second spring internal to the first; a member which is attached to spaced-apart coils of the coil spring to limit their linear expansion; and an internal member which limits constriction of a segment of the coil spring inwardly toward the spring axis.

    • A bicycle rear derailleur is provided for shifting a chain from one sprocket to another of a multiple freewheel which includes a plurality of sprockets each having a lowermost edge portion. The derailleur comprises a control mechanism pivotally mounted to a bicycle frame by a first pivot shaft which is parallel to the hub shaft, and a chain guide pivotally mounted to the control mechanism by a second pivot shaft which is parallel to the hub shaft. The chain guide rotatably supports an upper guide wheel and a lower tension wheel. The chain guide is biased in a chain tensioning direction by a spring and controlled by the control mechanism to move axially of the hub shaft. The guide wheel has an uppermost edge portion located ahead of the lowermost edge portion of each sprocket which the chain engages. The control mechanism is freely pivotable about the first pivot shaft without any spring bias at least within a predetermined range.

    • An improved form of bicycle speed change mechanism, characterized in that, a speed change support is installed to sustain and keep a bicycle chain at a fixed tension; a stop ring installed on the speed change support is bent to one side to form a positioning plate that is bent outwardly; a C-type snap ring is inserted in the gap of a support shaft; one end of the C-type snap ring extends outwardly to form a handle; one end of the handle forms a horizontal plate on which two guide holes are formed; two bolts are mounted in the guide holes; adjustment of the length of the two bolts extruding from the guide holes of the horizontal plate controls the angle of rotation of the stop ring wtih respect to the baffle angle of the bicycle frame, and consequently changes the force produced by the torsion spring which is dragged by the stop ring.
