    • A method of controlling a dual clutch transmission, a dual clutch transmission, and a vehicle equipped with the same which can reduce the load on a clutch on a start gear side to reduce the wear thereof and therefore make the clutch replacement interval longer. There are a first input shaft to be connected to a first clutch and a second input shaft to be connected to a second clutch. A set of odd-numbered gears and a set of even-numbered gears are arranged respectively across the first input shaft and second input shaft and an output shaft. When a vehicle starts, a start gear and a support gear are synchronously engaged to the second input shaft and the first input shaft, respectively, and simultaneously connecting the first clutch and the second clutch partially (half clutch state) to the first input shaft and the second input shaft, respectively, the support gear having a gear ratio larger than that of the start gear by one speed or higher.

    • A method is provided for balancing clutch wear in a dual clutch transmission, the transmission comprising a first transmission mechanism arranged to transmit mechanical driving force from an output shaft of the internal combustion engine to a first input shaft and to put any one of a first set of gears in an engaged state to connect the first input shaft to the ground engaging members; a second transmission mechanism arranged to transmit mechanical driving force from the output shaft of the internal combustion engine to a second input shaft and to put any one of a second set of gears in an engaged state to connect the second input shaft to the ground engaging members; a controllable first clutch unit arranged to bring the output shaft of the internal combustion engine and the first input shaft into engagement with each other; a controllable second clutch unit arranged to bring the output shaft of the internal combustion engine and the second input shaft into engagement with each other, and an electronic control unit arranged to control gear selection and clutch unit actuation. The method involves performing the steps of determining which clutch unit is subjected to the most accumulated wear and selecting a gear actuated by the other clutch unit during launch of the vehicle.

    • In a gear shift control apparatus for a vehicle, since a torque sharing rate is set as a constraint for a motion equation for an automatic transmission, suitable control in torque delivery, which is considered difficult in gear shift control, can be implemented and also the motion equation can be solved. Furthermore, when at least four control operation amounts must be determined in order to achieve two gear shift target values, another engaging device is classified into any of an engaging-side clutch and a releasing-side clutch depending on how another clutch torque acts on progress of a gear shift, hence in addition to achieving torque sharing in accordance with a torque sharing rate between the engaging-side clutch and the releasing-side clutch, torque sharing among a plurality of engaging devices classified into a same side can be arbitrarily set. As a result, the respective control operation amounts can be determined.
