摘要： Systems and methods for emergency brake systems are provided herein. In this regard, a brake system may comprise a summing lever having a first end and a second end, a brake handle coupled to the first end of the summing lever, the brake handle rotatably coupled about a first axis, and a linear actuator having a plunger, the plunger being coupled to the second end of the summing lever. In various embodiments, an idler link may be coupled between the brake handle and the first end of the summing lever. The brake system may further comprise a brake cable coupled between the summing lever and a brake metering valve. The brake metering valve may be actuated in response to at least one of the brake handle being rotated about the first axis or the linear actuator being actuated.

The first component has an inclined surface. The second component has a contact portion, which comes into contact with the inclined surface, and is arranged such that the pressure portion turns about a fulcrum upon the traveling of the first component.

摘要： The present invention is predicated upon the use of an apparatus that is engageable with a hand brake assembly which will automatically apply at least one brake means secured to a railway vehicle with such hand brake assembly. The apparatus of the invention comprises an operating means having at least a portion thereof engageable with at least one gear of a gear assembly disposed in a housing member of the hand brake assembly for operating such gear assembly. A source of fluid pressure is connected to operating means for periodically supplying a predetermined pressure to such operating means. A control means is connected to the source of the fluid pressure for initiating the supply of such predetermined pressure to the operating means. A further control means is connected to the source of the fluid pressure for regulating the supply of such predetermined pressure to the operating means thereby causing an automatic application of such brake means by the hand brake assembly. An additional control means is connected to the source of the fluid pressure for stopping an automatic application of such brake means in case of the emergency or a reversal of the unintented activation.

摘要： A brake apply control system for a vehicle. The control system has a selectively operable mechanical brake apply portion and a selectively operable hydraulic brake apply portion. The mechanical brake apply portion includes an operator linkage for connecting the operator with a mechanical brake apply mechanism and a hydraulic piston and valve combination for providing a hydraulic feedback force to the operator. The hydraulic brake apply portion includes a source of hydraulic pressure, a brake apply valve for supplying a selective brake signal of variable intensity in response to operator input, a conduit system which connects the source of hydraulic pressure to the hydraulic piston and valve combination and which communicates the brake signal to the hydraulic piston and valve combination. The hydraulic piston and valve combination responds not only to the source of hydraulic pressure to provide a first feedback force to the operator, but also to the brake signal for providing a second feedback force to the operator that is proportional to the intensity of the brake signal.
