摘要： A vehicle antitheft system and method which effect re-registration and erasure of codes without using a tool used exclusively for such purposes. By the time T1 seconds has elapsed from the time a master key, in which a code is registered, is inserted into a key cylinder, turning an ignition switch from off to on is repeated five times. When opening and closing of a door is repeated six times and the ignition switch is turned off and the key is removed from the key cylinder in the next T2 seconds, a mode is changed to a master key code registration mode. When a master key whose code is to be registered is inserted into the key cylinder within T3 seconds from the time when a master key in which a code is registered is removed from the key cylinder, and the ignition switch is turned on within T4 seconds, an identification code to be registered is read from a transponder. When T5 seconds has elapsed, the read identification code is registered in the memory as a registered code.

摘要： A vehicular anti-theft system which combines a mechanical key and an electronic key involving a code light signal. A light emitting element is provided in a casing attached to a base end of the shank of the mechanical key while a light receiving element is provided adjacent to an open end of the key hole so that the conventional action of fitting the key shank into the key hole causes the transmission of a code light signal between these elements. Advantageously, the light emitting element can be additionally equipped with the function of locking and unlocking a vehicle door so that the user can obtain the benefits of both a remote control entry system and a highly effective anti-theft engine start system.

摘要： A key-actuated electronic lock system for auto ignitions including a conventional auto ignition key-lock combination. Electronic lock actuating information is stored on the key and the lock supports a transducer for sensing the information stored on the key as it is inserted into the lock and for generating a coded electric signal indicative of the lock actuating information for application to a control secured in a locked compartment remote from the ignition lock. Within the control, the coded signal is compared with programmable coded information stored in the control and indicative of the electronic lock actuating information. A match of the information actuates circuitry for applying electric power to the auto ignition and auto accessories as desired including a lock to the locked compartment. The control includes a time delay lock out preventing unauthorized pulse code generator input from operating the system and over voltage protection devices for preventing a voltage override of the system. An auxiliary circuit allows operation of the auto ignition only by a standard mechanically coded ignition key after a combined closing of an auxiliary permit switch and actuation of the auto ignition lock with the electronically coded key.

摘要： A vehicle anti-theft device for deterring vehicle theft includes a housing that is coupled to a sidewall of the vehicle. A first power module and an actuator are coupled to the housing and are positioned in an internal space defined by the housing. The actuator is operationally coupled to the first power module. A brake pedal, which is operationally coupled to a braking system of the vehicle, is pivotally coupled to the sidewall of the vehicle proximate to the housing. A first coupler is coupled to the actuator and extends from an opening in the housing. A second coupler, which is complementary to the first coupler, is coupled to the brake pedal. The actuator is positioned to motivate the first coupler to reversibly and selectively couple to the second coupler when the brake pedal is depressed. The braking system of the vehicle is engageable to reduce the risk of theft.
