    • A power up pulse generator circuit generates a pulse of predetermined duration in spite of a slow rate of change of applied power supply voltage. The circuit has application to integrated logic circuits that begin operation from an initial condition after the application of the power supply voltage and an input signal. In one embodiment, a dynamic random access memory (DRAM) of the present invention begins operation after receiving an address strobe signal. The address strobe signal is coupled to the power up pulse generator circuit to assure that the power up pulse is of sufficient duration to reset internal registers and so establish the initial condition. The power up pulse generator circuit of such an embodiment includes a selectively enabled input buffer, a is selectively enabled one shot, and a flip flop designed to assume a predetermined state on application of the power supply voltage.

    • The invention is based on the principle that the antitheft device has a body of a hard material which cannot be easily cut through and which covers the points of connection of at least one rib with the steering wheel rim and the steering wheel hub. As a result, even though the uncovered rim portion or uncovered ribs are cut through, the device still preserves its antitheft functions, and the vehicle remain non-steerable. The body of the device has a U-shaped cross-sectional configuration so that the device can be hooked up over the wheel rim and then locked to the rim by a lock. The device has a side stopper which is constantly shifted into the space between the ribs and a second stopper that rests onto the dashboard of the vehicle, so that in an attempt to turn the steering wheel with respect to the device, the movement of the steering wheel device is limited due to contact of the steering wheel ribs with the side stopper of the device and due to contact of the foldable stopper of the device with the dashboard of the vehicle.

    • An anti-theft device (18) mounted to a wheel (90) or the like. Device (18) includes a shield (20) that mounts on top of a wheel (90), with adjustable links (63, 64) at one end (27) of device (18) thrust through voids (91) separating spokes (92) of the wheel (90), and with swingable elbow members (55, 56) at the other end (38) of device (16) thrust through steering wheel voids (91). Legs (58) on the elbow members (55, 56) swing into clasping or yoke members (70), after which a locking bar assembly (80) mounts to the yoke members (70) and by which the device (18) is placed in a locked mode on the wheel (90). The elbow members (55, 56) include arms (57) which, along with the links (63, 64), are adjustable to provide change in depth to the device (18). The shield (20) includes a pair of panels (21, 22) that are slidably engageable with each other, with a fastener (28) and holes (23) in one of the panels that fixes the two together in one of a number of different lengths for the device (18). Limbs (41, 42) extending from the device's one end (38) mount to sleeves (47) on side edges (45) of the panel extending from the device's other end (27), to assist in assembling of the device (18) heads (49) on the limbs (41, 42) preventing disassembly of the device (18).

The removal preventing apparatus is disposed on the upper plate and the rim and prevents removal of the upper plate when the steering wheel is captivated in the steering wheel chamber so that access to the steering wheel air-bag side is denied and removal of the air bag is prevented.

    • A security device for an automobile type steering wheel includes a two-section rim protection arrangement having a circumferential skirt portion, which may be of concave cross-section, to shield the rim of the steering wheel. The rim protection sections are attached to two elongated beam members which are placed across the steering wheel rim, with an extension out from the rim which is long enough to limit rotation of the steering wheel. The two beam members are locked in position by locking fixtures which have an unlocked state permitting relative movement or rotation of the two rim protection sections for placement on the steering wheel rim and a locked state in which the security device is fixed in place on the steering wheel. Other embodiments include a unitary, central locking security device having locking fixtures which extend under a steering wheel rim and are locked in place.
