    • A shoulder anchor position adjusting device is provided in which assembly of a position adjusting mechanism, which adjusts a position of a shoulder anchor, is easy. The shoulder anchor is fixed to a slider. The slider is slidably mounted to a slide rail by the position adjusting mechanism which has a lock pin and a release lever. The release lever is placed on the slider in which a stepped groove is formed. The release lever is swingably held due to engagement of an anchor plate of a cover case with a cut-out groove. A flange portion is formed at the lock pin, and is supported by a step forming portion of the stepped groove. Due to a coil spring, a shaft portion of the lock pin is inserted through an insertion hole of the slider and is fit into an engagement hole formed in the slide rail.

    • A shoulder adjuster includes a guide rail fitted so that the longitudinal direction is set as a vertical direction to a vehicle and provided with a plurality of notches formed at intervals in the longitudinal direction; and a slide member slidable in the longitudinal direction of the guide rail and having engaging parts engaging with the notches and a shoulder anchor fitting part. The notches have cut-in edge parts positioned on the underside in the vertical direction and substantially orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the guide rail and cut-in edge parts positioned on the upside in the vertical direction and obliquely to the longitudinal direction as to expand apertures of the notches. The slide member has an anchor fitting part to provide advancement and retreatment in the engaging direction and includes an elastic member for biasing the anchor fitting part in the engaging direction. The engaging parts are integral with the anchor fitting part and biased by the elastic member in the engaging direction.

    • An adjustable anchorage, for example a shoulder anchorage of a vehicle seat belt system, has a first part formed with a slot and a second part received in and movable along the slot. One part may support a seat belt and the other part may be part of, or be attachable to, a motor vehicle. The slot has alternate narrow and wide portions and the second part is shaped to engage in the wide slot portions. Adjustment is achieved either by rotation of the second part to align flats on it with the narrow slot portions, or by movement perpendicular to the slot against a spring bias to bring a narrow portion of the second part into the plane of the slot. Advantageously, the second member has a frusto-conical portion and the walls of the slot are shaped always to urge the second member into a wide portion when released at a position intermediate two wide portions.

    • An adjustable seat belt anchorage, particularly for the upper end of the shoulder belt of a vehicle seat belt system, comprises a channel-shaped track along which a carriage having a loop or other means for attachment of a seat belt is slidable. The track has a series of notches which are engageable by a protruding rib on the carriage. For adjustment, the carriage is rockable about an axis perpendicular to the direction of sliding movement to release the rib from engagement with the notches. A torsion spring acting between the carriage and the track biasses the rib and notches into engagement and the engagement is enhanced by the tension in the belt during use.
