摘要： An extraction tool for extracting a head rest retainer sleeve from a vehicle seat assembly comprising a tubular member seated within an opening in the vehicle seat assembly. The tubular member has a first end adjacent the opening and a second end disposed in the seat. A cylindrical, elongated retainer sleeve is received in the tubular member for slidably receiving a mounting post of a head rest. The retainer sleeve has a head portion covering the first end of the tubular member, a plurality of flexible locking wedges for engaging the second end of the tubular member to retain the sleeve in the tubular member and seat, and an inner wall defining an aperture extending between the head portion and the locking wedges for receiving the mounting post of the head rest. The extraction tool includes an cylindrical, elongated body member having upper and lower ends. The upper end includes a gripping surface for positioning the extraction tool into the retainer sleeve and the lower end includes an engagement extraction member slidably received within the retainer sleeve for engaging and compressing the locking wedges to unlock the sleeve from the tubular member. The engagement extraction member includes a plurality of flexible finger elements corresponding with the locking wedges and extending upwardly and outwardly from the body member which engage and compress the locking wedges inwardly and away from the tubular member to allow the retaining sleeve to be removed from the tubular member on the extraction tool.

摘要： In the case of a headrest provided with an arrangement for securing the end position of a support rod, where the catch effect for the removal of the headrest with both hands can be temporarily cancelled, and the catch, when the support rod is pushed in, is automatically brought back into the position where it is ready to catch, a two-armed lever is disposed at the lower end of an operating rod which takes up two defined end positions. In one end position, the free end of the lever is swivelled out of the path of motion of the support rod and the catch is in effect whereas in the other end position, the catch effect is cancelled and the free end is swivelled into the path of motion of the support rod.

摘要： This invention relates to a head rest for a car, and more particularly to support means for supporting stays of the head rest. The means to support stays of the head rest comprises a sleeve secured to a seat back frame and a stay guide member having a resilient jaw provided at the lower end and a flange provided at the upper end and extending through the sleeve with the jaw and the flange engaged with the lower and upper ends of the sleeve. Each of the stays of the head rest is removably inserted into the stay guide member. The stay guide member also has a stopper engaged with the sleeve. The sleeve has an axial slit extending throughout the length of the sleeve to engage the stopper of the stay guide member.

In order to accommodate removal of the head rest with both hands after the cancelling of a locking effect, a remote control is provided in the form of an operating rod extending approximately in axial direction of a headrest support rod. When the operating rod is operated, the catch is guided into a secured disengaged position which, when the support rod is pushed in again, by the effect of the support rod, is cancelled again so that safety is not sacrificed.

摘要： A head and neck rest for automobile or airplane seats comprises a headpiece and means for mounting the headpiece above the backrest of a seat. The mounting means include a sleeve member which is fixed within the backrest and an upright rod longitudinally traversing the sleeve. The sleeve and the headpiece are longitudinally adjustable on the rod for varying the position of height of the headpiece above the backrest. Spring means preferably consisting of rubber blocks are engaged between the internal surface of the sleeve and the rod to exert pressure on the sleeve in a direction from the front towards the back of the headpiece for frictionally arresting the headpiece in its adjusted position on the rod. Friction-increasing inserts may be arranged between the rod and the internal surface of the sleeve.
