    • Mounting assembly for a vibration damper, comprising at least one aligning surface on the vibration damper side, which is in working connection with an opposing surface on the vehicle side at least during the installation of the vibration damper in a receiving opening in the vehicle. The at least one aligning surface and the opposing surface rotationally align the mounting side with the vehicle side. The aligning surface is arranged on a mounting cap with torque-transmitting element, and with at least one axial support surface for cooperation with the opposing surface on the vehicle side. The mounting cap prevents the vibration damper from falling out of the mounting assembly through the use of a carrier on the mounting side, to which the vibration damper is attached, this carrier having a retaining element in the form of a tongue which engages an opening in the mounting cap.

    • A mount is provided having a central portion defining first and second sides and provided with a plurality of openings formed therethrough for support of the mount from a vehicle hub wheel mounting portion with the first side of the mount opposing the hub. The mount includes remote lever arm portions extending outwardly from the central portion in opposite directions generally normal to a ray normal to the first side of the mount and an anchor arm is carried by one of the lever arm portions and projects outwardly of the second side of the mount. An elongated lever arm is also provided and has one end portion pivotally supported from the anchor arm outer end for oscillation about an axis transverse to the lever on end of the anchor arm and the other end portion of the lever arm spaced laterally outwardly from the second side of the mount in registry with the other lever arm portion. Hydraulic jack structure is operatively associated with the other end portion of the lever arm and the other lever arm portion for jacking the latter away from the former and elongated tension member structure is provided including one end for releasable anchoring to the upper end portion of a McPherson strut and structure at the other end for selective releasable connection to selected ends of the lever arm.

    • A wheel to wheel strut camber correcting tool including a heavy rigid frame channel body with wheel bolt openings to facilitate wheel bolt mounting of the channel body on a strut wheel mounting disk, and a reversible direction screw drive assembly mounted on the top of the channel body. The reversible direction screw drive assembly has a pivotal mount in parallel spaced mounting flanges for a rotationally fixed drive screw hub housing member rotationally mounting a drive nut. The drive nut is drivingly threaded to an elongated non-rotational bolt member having a strut attachment head constructed for being removably clamped to a strut. The elongated threaded body of the non-rotational bolt member is threadingly drawn back into a rotational tool drive housing with a wrench tool hexagonal drive end or threadingly driven outwardly dependent on the rotation of the drive housing and therewith the drive nut to thereby bend the strut and wheel spindle with the wheel mounting disk interconnect to correct excess positive or negative camber when a wheel to wheel strut interconnect has been bent out of alignment as by a severe bump or collision.

    • A camber adjustment tool for a McPherson front end suspension system comprises a rigid base for being fastened to the face of a wheel hub. The wheel mounting studs extend through elongated holes in the base that facilitate fastening the base to the hub independently of different wheel stud patterns. Cammed sleeves inserted in the holes around the wheel studs prevent damaging the threads of the studs and provide rigid bearing surfaces for attaching the base to the hub. An adjustable foot releasably secured to the bottom of the base rests on the floor and rigidly supports the wheel hub above the floor. An instrument mounting bridge spaced from and extending parallel to the face of the base facilitates supporting a camber indicating gauge adjacent the hub independently of the wheel stud pattern. An adjustable collar is swivel mounted to the end of a rigid force-applying arm, which in turn, is fastened by a pair of adjustment nuts to the top of the base. The collar is fastened around the circumference of a McPherson strut, and either of the adjustment nuts is tightened to move the force-applying arm toward or away from the strut for progressively applying force to either side of the strut for increasing or decreasing the wheel camber, respectively.

    • A hand tool adjusts the camber of a wheel assembly on a front-end drive vehicle including a vertically disposed spring-loaded strut portion located between a partition or fender apron and a front-wheel. The tool includes an elongated handle section, a fulcrum section and a wheel assembly contacting section. The wheel assembly contacting section includes a strut portion bearing surface transversely disposed at an outer end of a bearing surface support which projects outwardly from a first side and at one end of the fulcrum section. The elongated handle section is connected to the fulcrum section at a location laterally spaced from the bearing surface support and projects outwardly from the first side of the fulcrum section. The handle, fulcrum and wheel assembly contacting sections are substantially disposed in a common plane. The fulcrum section includes a fulcrum bearing surface on a second side of the fulcrum section opposite the first side thereof. The fulcrum bearing surface is substantially flat along the second side and effective to abut a partition member or fender apron disposed between the engine compartment and the wheel assembly in a front-end drive vehicle.
