摘要： A gripper having jaws (11,12) is transported from a first position (FIG. 2) in which it grips a case blank (1) in a flat, folded condition to a second position (FIG. 4) in which the case (8) is erected. Gripping devices (13) on the jaws (11,12) are aligned with one another when the gripper is in its first position. The gripping devices (13) on the jaws (11,12) are oriented at right angles to one another when the gripper is in its second position. Mutual rotation is effected between the jaws (11,12) as the gripper is moved from its first to its second position, in order to unfold a case blank (1) gripped by the gripper jaws (11,12).

The machine includes at least one mover including a picker for picking the carton blank from the hopper and associating the carton blank with the mover. A controlled motion track is provided for moving the at least one mover and picker along a path of travel to a stationary position for engaging the carton blank in the hopper. A further aspect relates to maintaining a suction force on the carton blank during conveyance, including along a linear portion of the track associated with a lugged conveyor for assisting in erecting the blank into a carton. Another aspect relates to a rotatable bucket for receiving and supporting the product, and a controlled motion track for positioning the bucket and associated product for delivery to the carton. Related methods are also described.

摘要： An apparatus for collecting a flattened tubular box, for opening-out and transferring the tubular box towards a receiving station has a first member hinged to a frame, bearing first aspirating means. Second, third, and fourth hinged members and the frame forming a four-bar linkage. A fifth member, hinged to the fourth member, bears second aspirating means. An abutting member is arranged between the first member and the receiving station inferiorly of the tubular box. The apparatus is being designed such that when the tubular box is in the folding position, a second wall of the box can be intercepted by the second aspirating means and folded progressively with respect to the first wall, the first aspirating means disengage the first wall, and the box moved by the second aspirating means up to rest on the abutting member with a consequent complete opening-out of the tubular box.

The folding boxes are received in a receiving station by the retaining device and are conveyed on a curved track to a transfer station and therefore transferred to a succeeding conveyor device. Here the support parts perform a rotary movement at a speed that varies during one revolution and with an opposing relative rotation. Each support part supports a plurality of retaining devices arranged equally distributed along the circumference, wherein the retaining devices of the support parts are preferably arranged alternately and consecutively in the circumferential direction.

The first arm and the second arm are activatable in phase relation with one another. The unit is configured such that the pick-up member picks up the flattened tubular blank from the pick-up position (P), rests the tubular blank on a rest plane, and opening-out the tubular blank. The unit then moves the pick-up member towards the pick-up position (P), passing over the opened-out tubular blank.

A unique series of elements, including capture lugs which hold and “bow” the carton blank, together with plow rods and oscillators which have curved metal plates are used to “pre-break” the score lines of the blank. Travelling pressure blocks having convex outer surfaces are used to press the concave sides of the carton while hot glue dries, whereby the unique, tapered cartons are properly formed.
