摘要： A shoe comprises a sock formed of fabric material and a reinforcing structure of plastic material which is directly injected onto the sock. The reinforcing structure covers predetermined parts of the sock to form a toe region, a reinforcement for the heel region, an edging which surrounds the shoe opening, and one or more transverse bands, all parts of the reinforcing structure being mutually integral with each other. The sock comprises at least one lateral part forming an upper and a base part formed of a fabric which is less than the fabric forming the lateral part. The reinforcing plastic structure includes a shaped grid-like portion formed by mutually intersecting ribs which penetrate through the less dense fabric of the sock base part into the inside of the sock from its outside. The grid-like portion thereby constitutes gripping projections which bonds the plastic reinforcing structure securely to the sock and further functions as a support for an insole.

摘要： A process of making a shoe includes bonding a flat structure to an upper layer of the shoe to form a bonded structure. The flat structure has a melting temperature T.sub.2 and provides stability to a shape of the upper layer. The bonded structure is positioned into a mold so that an underside of the bonded structure faces the mold. A liquid sole material at a temperature T.sub.1 which is greater than T.sub.2 is sprayed into the mold, thereby contacting and melting the flat structure. The sole material cools and solidifies to form a shoe. The flat structure has a melting temperature T.sub.2 and provides stability to a shape of the upper layer.

摘要： A molded athletic boot, a reinforcing insert assembly for a molded athletic boot and a method of making the boot are described. A cloth-like insert is mounted on a last and a mold is then closed about the last. A castable material, such as polyurethane is injected into the mold so that it impregnates and encapsulates the insert prior to solidifying to form an athletic boot having great tensile strength and rigidity. The described insert assembly comprises a porous, elastic, sock-like element which fits over the last. A layer of a woven or knitted polyamide and a layer of a nonwoven polyamide are secured inside the sock-like element at selected locations.

摘要： When hot injection molding thermoplastic soles onto textile components the sole portion of the last is heated to achieve better bonding. In order to markedly increase production, only the peripheral part of the sole portion of the last is heated, the middle (remaining) part is maintained at an effectively lower temperature. This is accomplished by providing a last having either an insulating layer between the middle and peripheral parts thereof, or, marking the middle part entirely of insulating material.
